Ok just tested this and it is categorically not true. I'm on turn 21 right now and Morghur is still friendly with me. I think the biggest mistake you made diplomatically is not giving him anyone specific to fight after he took out Estallia.
He was willing to join my war against Belagor at that time for free, then he declared war on the fae and I joined that war.
I also used my initial hero to steal tech ahead of him around Estalia and up to the wood elves which he also likes me for.
Also at turn 21 Skavenblight has 0 chaos corruption despite All of neighboring Estalia being in ruins with a herd stone.
Villich is by far the best tank in the game, regenerating both barrier and health at the same time.
Of course, nearly all of the Chaos Warriors LL (except Festus) are better tanks than Morghur, Taurox, Throgg, Malekith, Mazdamundi....many.
But you are Skaven and they struggle with melee.
Your best choice is to play/confederate Throt the Unclean and use beasts to kill Morghur as he can be knocked away very easily.
You need beasts with at least 200 weapon damage and another 100 charge damage.
Prefer fire/poison/magic damage over physical, as Morghur has some ancillaries that will also give physical resist.
Throt the Unclean can also use his lab to improve his creatures, giving them extra damage.
Really, there is no better Skaven to beat Morghur than Throt's army.
If you really want to make it personal and stab Morghur to death then Clan Eshin LL, Snikch is the way to go as he is the superior skaven melee fighter, able to take down nearly all Legendary Lords on 1v1 situations.
Morghur is not as bad as these players make it to be. It's actually linear and quite easy.
You can't confed throt as early as you'll have troubles with morghur, if you have them.
A generic skaven warlord is more potent than a 200WS monster.
Fire and poison aren't bypassing physical resistance.
Fire is only for fire resist/weakness and poison doesn't interact with resistances as its not a dmg type.
Sknitch is a good assassin, but he's by far not the stronges LL.
