Sylvania campain is HARD
So ive tried two times to play as sylvania in Imortal impires.
And i run into the same problems. most of the impire declares war on me and attack just after i unite sylvania. same with Zufbar. I cant afford more than 1 and ½ army. cant hold all of at ones. any tips?

My solution was don't upgrade any town, purely get the gibbet for +250 gold and leave em at level 1, funnelling all your money into more and more armies, and use raise dead a lot.

i guess that does sound like a solution. a kinda counter intuitive one, but maybe its the only way

You do not need 1.5 armies. Even a single lord with a few unit's can mean the difference in a defense.

Aye it is weird, but not many other buildings give you much income really, and you can get top tier units easily from raise dead so you don't really need military buildings. Plus doing it this way means that if somebody rampages through your land while you are wiping out a faction its fine. Just finish up then go and kill then, they won't be reducing the level of your settlements anyway.

The only place I would level up is Drakenhof, as it has the gold mine which is handy, and you want at least 1 place nobody can ever take.

Oh ye and if you see an army heading to one of your towns this method should leave you with enough money to just raise dead anyway. Its hilarious the number of times an army will be coming at you, then with enough spare money from sacking (as you only need level 1 settlements) you can instantly raise a full army of high tier units, then just use that to expand the front in another direction.

So when do you start upgrading? never?
Kalvix Feb 18, 2023 @ 11:40am
I upgrade Drakenhof from the start, but nothing else. Then I just try to make sure I've got enough spare for raise dead and buying gibbets in towns I sack. Honestly you don't even need to upgrade Drakenhof that much, just make sure it can defend itself.

I always did it as Isabella. Its even easier now that I can slot vladdy daddy into her army with the 5 vampires I give her. Then I just fill her army up with zombies for buffering and let them vampire and zombies feast. There is no early game army that dwarves or empire can field that doesnt' just die to that.

Yes, but 3 cheap lords can.
Besides, you don't need to defend everything constantly. It's okay to lose a settlement only to retake it later. Losing a battle is okay, as long as you win the war.

I'm playing with vlad in very hard difficulty, i already eliminated the dwarves, balthasar gelt, and karl is surrounded in altdorf.

I never built any military buildings, I only raise the dead.
I only upgrade cities when they're already secured, and there's no way an enemy will get close.

It's the most difficult campaign I've ever played, mostly because you don't have allies nearby, but you have to understand that it's a faction that you shouldn't mind losing units, armies or minor buildings, you can revive a new army very easily and regain ground .

As VC you will never have a lvl 2-3 minor settlement , until every faction on the map is gone.
As others have said just upgrade Drakenhof and other province capitols .
Or just go play something that is fun , raising dead on every front with chaff is boring after the 100 time .
