When it comes to multiplayer there is 2 things that should be true.
1. Your computer should be able to handle processing the game fine (At least 60 FPS solid on any settings you like to play on)
and
2. You should do a speed test on google to ensure that all your internet's are providing enough bandwidth(The upload and download of packets and resources) since it needs to do that in order to be able to update the code in all 3 games that for example a unit moved and to move it correctly on all 3 screens.
As a former game developer I'd suggest that you would want at least 20 mb/s download and 5 mb/s if you were playing like Call Of Duty, For Warhammer 3 though on immortal empires you are talking about a lot more details and parts moving than some arcade shooter so i'd easily double the requirements.
Also keep in mind that Immportal Empires is still in Beta and not classified as launched fully so CA are allowed to not address issues on it currently since their build also has flaws in it.
Third party programs can create bad lag too by the way since you need more bandwidth to process higher quality things so if you were for example running a youtube video on HD you would probably almost lag every time naturally anyway since the HD video itself would be about 50 GBs of size in HD. So it takes more to even watch it.
Steams overlay is also you know not developed perfectly either so it could be running issues for you.
Also here is a hidden thing that nobody ever knows but I know because I am smart sadly lol
Do you know when you have a "Pending update" on something that it actually takes all the bandwidth as if it was downloading the update even if it wasn't, So if you have a windows update for example just sitting there idle it can actually take your bandwidth from you, This can be true for any app as well that has a "pending update" and most people don't know that, That's why it's important on PC to always have everything updated entirely. Unfortunately there is nothing you can do to stop pending updates as they are not issued by you but the companies pushing out update, All you can do is see pending updates because you it tells you, "Update required".
Most people don't know that but my PC detected a new update for my version of windows last night and it made me lag badly in league of legends I had over 2000 ms latency and my bandwidth is 1GB download speed and 700mb upload speed so my internet is insane. Pretty much the best the world has to offer and it even made me lag and that's all that was running to pending updates is a big killer it may not seem like it but it is :3
anyway I hope this helps I am too afraid to do multiplayer in this game so I can't quite say for certain but I'm pretty sure in a heavy build setting for strategy games multiplayer due to the heavy data that lag is most certainly always going to occur at some point because nothing is perfect.
Have a wonderful day :3
That, combined with semi-regular steam verifying made the game run smooth as butter for us. If this does help, just keep in mind that every time you verify, you will need to open your firewall again.
If so, how?
the game use P2P because i mostly play with my friend and we both live in the same country in quebec so far i have no lag or whatsoever except when we go to the next turn in the campaign map
so in short the farther you are with your friend and more there will be lag and stuttering or if you're friend have a bad connection that will affect you as well
Download Radmin VPN or some similar Programm. My Friends and I use Radmin, it's free, small and simple to use.
Just create a Network and let every friend of yours Join and make sure it's running for everyone before starting the game.
BAM.
Fixes the lagg.
It's stupid, it shouldn't be this way, never had this problem in Warhammer 2, something got ♥♥♥♥♥♥ up in Warhammer 3, it makes no sense that this fixes it but here we are.
CA created up to 8 Player Coop campaigns and gave us simultanious turns but destroyed the network and made campaigns unbearable laggy.
Hey bro, thank you so much for this piece of advice. I will look into Radmin VPN and see if it helps out. I sincerely appreciate the comment bro, will update this thread if it works!!
