trade settlement diplomacy should be reconsidered.
Trading settlement in TW:WH III is too powerful in diplomacy. I managed to make White Dwarf the best friend of malekith by giving him settlement(I personally like it) but the point is it shouldnt have swaying power on the diplomacy not to mention you can insanse amounts of money when trading settlements to the point bankrupting other factions.

I agree.

Even though personally, I don't use it like op does. I use it to more or less create a buffer by gifting an occasional settlment to an ally or some other faction in alrewdy friendly with and have no intention of going to war with.

Plus I like to stay within the lore. White dwarf would not be besties with malekith

It never works for me! They never trade

I'd say keep it, but the value should be really reduced by much !
Currently gifting some rotten half destroyed level 1 settlement doomed to be retaken in a couple turns give you not only 3000 gold but also +20 relation, kinda ridiculous

It is indeed very powerful; but I disagree that it's detrimental.

Trading settlements being extremely powerful has finally made diplomacy, as a whole, potent enough to use as a strategic tool.

I've found the new transaction "balance" button is very effective at pushing other factions toward bankruptcy. More so than handing out settlements anyway, albeit far slower.

I've also found that overdoing it by handing out settlements to control the landscape will come around and bite you in the ass.

Also, the diplomacy blow-back from other factions is quite substantial for gifting settlements.

Naturally, it depends on how you play and what your focus is. As someone who plays SP with emphasis on campaign map strategy, I really appreciate Diplomacy being raised to a functional level.

trading settlements is great for multiple reasons.
first of all it allows you to create buffer states,
second you can actively give land to allies that are better suited for the type of settlement than your own faction might be.

third, while the current value is very high it does allows you to create unconventional alliances which are otherwise very hard to create. this way you can actually make use of allied recruitment properly.
in most of my campaigns i prefer to be at least somewhat lore friendly but for those campaigns that i dont and just want to mess around with interesting army bonuses giving settlements is a great option to make it all happen.

yes you can bankrupt a faction by trading, but there are all kinds of ways to cheese the game. it is all up to the player to decide if they want to make use of those options.
it is all up to the player to decide how they want to proceed.

This game is way too easy as it is, dumbed down so far. Factions keep trying to hand me their entire country and all their armies with this ridiculous "confed" nonsense.

It's Total War. Everyone is your enemy.

This has been fun, but it's time for Med 3 now please.

That was one of the biggest features (along with splitting armies) that was missing from the modern Total War games and you want to get rid of it?

I've never ask for the removal of the feature....more so to tune it and make it more balanced.
