1. IE. Even so far know more replay ability with new end game scenarios, overall too nice mix up for map. ME was very predictable over time.
2. Fight chaos(I mean made a whole mod to enhance that aspect), IE, I dunno got all same trappings but see over time what end up enjoying the most
3. Nah, it’s same just tweaked differently
4. Mods both, basically same set but largely preferential choices not knock on vanilla
But ya, personally all I have to say, see in a year tho and I’d imagine be easy choice for me with IE.
I find IE to just be a jumbled mess with no real purpose. Its very easy to beat and there is no faction cohesion or grand setting 'feel'. Theres no point to what faction you choose to play as the Warhammer setting doesnt matter in this sandbox compared to ME.
There also seems to be some artificial limit on how much AI can expand as once a powerhouse faction hits a certain threshold they just seem to crumble despite not actually losing, again making the game easier.
Also, AI is still pretty meh. Thankfully its not Empire or MTW2 with low hp generals b/c they still yolo after more than a decade.. nuff said
without opposition to conquest you lose all empire building as well as any opposition
The IE 'sandbox' on the other hand feels shallow and boring with a lot of factions. End game scenarios feel like a cheap substitute comparatively. Would have much preferred each faction had their own goals, antagonists and antagonists as in ME.
For example:
If Ogres had been in WH2: ME, you would have likely had a grand campaign that focused on satisfying the great maw, getting buffs/RoR access and items as you went and etc, being pushed to fight a certain enemy for a definitive reason.
In WH3: IE the ogre campaign is a shallow, boring mess with no direction other than 'right click enemy settlement' ad nauseam. This is the same for a lot of factions who's WH2 campaign objectives and mechanics didn't carry over.
I still like WH3: IE, but I'm not enjoying the IE sandbox focus nearly as much compared to WH2: ME as it currently stands.
I can’t seem to get over how cartoonish the WH3 map is.
I cannot stand how they butchered Lustria and the Southlands in ME despite creating them for Vortex. Also there are less races. I will never go back. Anyone saying IE is not better is not playing with mods. Without mods sniffing paint is more replayable then any modern Total War game. IE(modded) is far superior to ME(modded). Vanilla ME is trash as is vanilla IE.
What mods are you running? so far i only have the Agressive AI mod.
