It looks somewhat promising though I hope, lacking the direct simulation of the wider war's effects, that it incorporates that in some way via events etc.
Warhammer fantasy is big, Warhammer 40,000 is so indescribably large that I don't think the current set up would work.
To be clear, I would be hyped for a CA 40K game but don't know it can be done right now.
Where's our jumpjets then! Or our Titans. Or even bog standard power armour.
Nah 40k is it's own thing and it could work with total warhammer. If you like seeing small squads of up to 20 models at most. Maybe 60 for swarm unit's.
They exist, in my head
so it owuld be wh1/2/3 combined per planet
that is very heavy and not everyone has a 4090 do they lol
oh it oculd be done but the 5 people playing it would need ot pay 5m bucks each
It would probably work best as some mix of Dawn of War and that fan-made game, Chapter Master.
Have the galaxy map be turn based, while the battles are real time.
Also, another company already owns the rights to 40k Space battles, so when fleets engage each other in this hypothetical game, it’d either be mandatory auto-resolve, or some sort of “skip straight to the boarding action” type of deal.
Oh and it would, of course, need Hotseat mode in order to truly be a success.
I think, it is very possible
...but, it would be different from "standard" total war formula with "line combat" , I would expect battles similar to Company of Heroes

Has its own rule books etc: https://warhammer40000.com/apocalypse/
Don’t even think dice rolling is same, and iirc got its own markers etc and rules for group shooting you don’t use in normal matches
So call it Total Warhammer: 40,000 Apocalypse.
Check out the Dawn of War games, they got half-way there tbh, even had strategic turn based maps.
