Others have left temporarily because there is no new content for months and the interest is at the lowest point we've seen in years. It's completely demoralising and some people, including myself, just can't show up and pretend to be happy about it. Even though people are playing the game, most are not seeking to watch gameplay on Youtube or Twitch. It's also important to note that the number of people playing Warhammer 3 at the moment is at the lower end of what Warhammer 2 had. Warhammer 3 has not brought a larger playerbase to Total War. It is a bit smaller than it was before and it continues to shrink. It just hasn't quite hit the stride that Warhammer 2 achieved. Not yet anyway. Dlc usually brings these players back but we know there isn't any coming until April at the earliest. Some of us just can't wait around that long when there is other things happening elsewhere. You'll probably see a surge of streamers come back to Warhammer 3 around March but until then I'd expect things to get even quieter.
Some people will say things along the lines of "it's your job so suck it up" and there is some truth to that. However streamers have no employers and part of the job is to have passion for the game that you play. You can't just suck it up and force passion. People can tell when you're just there because of the paycheck and not there for the gameplay. It's certainly not worth showing up for the sense of community. The playerbase is too divided right now and infighting is rife.
There's also the fact that many other games were released this year that are on the same interest level as Warhammer 3 that vies for peoples attention. Warhammer 3 is just not being competitive in this regard which causes streamers to make content elsewhere or just take a break. Darktide is a big pull at the moment and is a major contributing factor to lack of Warhammer 3 entertainers.
Hope that gives a bit of insight as to why there are fewer streamers right now.
And yes I completely agree with what you said. The game has so little content right now that it has reduced the playerbase to a tiny fraction. Not to mention all the censorship like removing the hanging intestines from the Great Unclean One and replacing that with a giant mouth. The game is a big disappointment even with immortal empires BETA as its becoming quit clear now that it was rushed for a quick profit.
Warhammer 2 cheated with the Cov, unless an event similar to this happen again, warhammer 3 will never reach the same numbers...
Why on earth would we be jealous of LTW? I find his playstyle to be utterly boring to watch. The only thing I have issue with, are his fans. That mindlessly copy what he does and get angry if you play differently.
Game currently has more content then Warhammer 2. Far more. At launch it had more content then either game 1 or 2 had at launch.
There is no "censoring". You do realize the belly mouth is part of Nurgle's looks since day 1, right? Sure more variation and having the guts hang out would be nice. But the bellymouth ain't censorship.
And you do understand that ME was a BETA as well? But without the tag thrown on?
You're forgetting something which also factors in, people are just bored of Total War Warhammer. The title has been going on for some time now. People want something new, something fresh.
I for one find game 3 to be the best of the trilogy, but I sunk so much time into game 2 already. Replaying the older races and factions just doesn't appeal to me. I'm burned out of the game and just trying other games.
I imagine you doing this as a job have it even worse.
This doesnt have any variety, not really, you play as Race A and you will play the same way with Race A every time, same enemies, same methods, same results every time.
Basically this.
Since immortal empires release, we're basically back to where game 2 left off for a few years, which is playing the same sandbox mode albeit with more content now. Which is fine, it's exactly what a lot of people were asking for since day 1.
So now we're back to waiting for the next dlc to drop to spice things up. It just feels kind of bad since the next content drop is a while away.
To help solve this, I'd love to have a random map generator of some sort to make campaigns even more dynamic and unique.
Mods to change starting positions can spruce things up.
