So... play Zhao Ming in whatever game mode(s) you have access to.
Try Grimgor I guess? Greenskins are pretty straightforward and his faction doesn't have any unique mechanics to learn. He also starts with a bunch of minor factions around him.
Care about province capitals, the rest matters little.
Be'lakor is one of the stronger.
Ku'gath is not for starters, as seen by the flood of threads.
In Realm of Chaos, none of them really have a drastically bad start. Note that Ku'Gath is always going to be a slow start, and Kairos is probably going to rely heavily on him murdering everything with spells. N'Kari can also be a bit rough to play in battle due to their fragility, but are strong on the campaign map. Skarbrand is kind of a walk in the park in RoC, so is probably not a bad start.
Legions of Chaos I believe isn't as bad as it used to be, but could still potentially be challenging.
Haven't really played any of the CoC champions, so not sure about the difficulty of their starts, but Warriors of Chaos will generally have an easier early game than Daemons.
In IE:
Ku'Gath is going to have the same issues, plus a harder start; probably not a good pick. Kairos and LoC are similar.
Skarbrand, not sure about his start. Sounds like it may also be more difficult.
N'Kari is fine if you can handle Slaanesh in battle, noting you'll need to kill a LOT of elves with troops made of paper. But if you can handle that, you can secure the island and be in a very strong position.
Any of the WoC lords should probably be okay, with those closest to multiple Dark Fortresses being in the best position. Be'Lakor is probably worth noting here, as his ability to teleport means you start out with early access to a LOT of potential Fortresses.
Do not jump straight to Immortal Empires cause you will be 100% confused
Tips for starting I learned later than I probably should have, dont expand too quickly or you're gonna get your ♥♥♥♥ rocked fast, make sure you prioritize growth buildings over income, you can always demo the buildings but if you go income over growth you'll have money but no good units etc. These simple rules go for every faction essentially, also if you look at my play time im at 87hrs which is NOT A LOT. There are plenty of people who can give you some great info, but I really recommend watching some videos to get some good tips too
I'd watch a video literally just on the races so you get an idea of their mechanics, and play style!
