Like wow pink Daniel, that's never been done before, super creative :thekid:

Really hope modders can give him a more interesting look.

Lol, What a silly petty thread.
Thought he looked pretty cool..

He doesn't look like Yuri's incarnation of the Daemon Prince at all. Lol. Azazel has a unique body and bone structure, unique animations, feathery wings, a toga, a necklace, bandage wraps and extra unique adornments. Their only similarity is that they're both Daemon Princes, but the similarities end there.
if you saw the two of them from a distance you wouldn't be able to tell the difference

No.

Azazel doesn't even possess a skin colour that the Daemon Prince can attain. If you're going to boil down the similarities between Azazel and the Daemon Prince from a distance resulting in them being indiscernible from each other, you must also be of the opinion that all of the human-sized units from each race and faction look the same from a distance... which would be equally preposterous.
Opposite he looks awesome.
So far 2/4 of the new Chaos LL look generic and uninspired, with no unique LL campaign mechanics.

This DLC is 8 Princes all over again.

Hate to break it to you, but I doubt any of the 2 remaining will have unique mechanics.

Valkya will have bloodletting
Vilich will have changing of ways

Probably

So what exactly are people paying for? If the first DLC flops, than we get a repeat of 3 Kingdoms, and soon we'll have The Future of WH3 video.

it has nothing to do with 8 princes, it is not a separate ♥♥♥♥♥♥ campaign that destroy the point of the game which in three kingdom was collecting the most historical figure in your faction go figure why this poop bomb hard

What are people paying for? Off the top of my head.

  • 4 new Legendary Lords, each leading their own faction, playable in two different campaigns with all that entails (victory conditions, quest battles, missions, etc.)
  • Chaos Gifts mechanic.
  • Dark Fortresses and improved Vassals mechanics.
  • Warbands mechanics.
  • Unit ascension mechanics.
  • Path to glory mechanics.
  • New units for Warriors of Chaos and Daemons of Chaos factions. (see below.)

Some of these mechanics are also being applied to the existing Warriors of Chaos factions/Legendary Lords through a FLC update so you won't actually need to have the DLC to use them with Acheron and co, but they're made for (and paid for by sales of) the Champions of Chaos DLC.

REGIMENTS OF RENOWN (CHAMPIONS EDITION)
In addition to the above forces, four new Regiments of Renown units will be joining the game: each of which aligns to a different Chaos God.

KNIGHTS OF THE BRAZEN THRONE (Skullcrushers of Khorne)
Alignment: KHORNE
These Skullcrushers are outfitted with jet-black armour and dual axes. They gain bonuses to their combat prowess when charging and are a strong counter to infantry units.

BILIOUS THUNDERGUFF (Chaos Giant)
Alignment: NURGLE
Bilious Thunderguff is a Giant that has been tainted by the gifts of Nurgle. Bilious used to experience extreme bouts of indigestion; now, with his newfound gifts, he is now able to channel his trapped wind and harness it against his opponents.

THE SIBILANT SLAUGHTERCADE (Chaos Chariots)
Alignment: SLAANESH
Those Chaos Charioteers who catch the peripheral gaze of the Dark Prince are offered a place within the Sibilant Slaughtercade. Pulled by Steeds of Slaanesh, these maligned Chaos Chariots have a wealth of additional attributes as they thirst for the souls of their enemies.

THE SEVERED CLAW (Aspiring Champions)
Alignment: TZEENTCH
The Severed Claw is a unit of Aspiring Champions aligned to Tzeentch. These fearsome Warriors are protected by a barrier and armed with magically imbued Halberds, making them formidable hunters of larger targets.

There's also the Marked Chaos Warriors FLC, again paid for by sales of the Champions of Chaos DLC,

further expanding the ranks of your Northern kin. Those units include three Warriors of Chaos variants:

GREAT WEAPONS for Nurgle
HELLSCOURGES for Slaanesh
HALBERDS for Tzeentch"

Will it be a must buy for everyone? Probably not. But for those that enjoy playing Chaos it seems to me they're getting a lot, even if the new Legendary Lords mechanics are more a new combination of existing race and mechanic, rather than a completely original mechanic.

And even those that aren't interested in Chaos and/or don't buy it, there still seems to be quite a lot added they'll be able to fight against.

Anyway, that's how I see it. I respect others feel differently.

All the Best,

Welsh Dragon.

So you're just gonna ignore the rest of the DLC and focus on *one* aspect that the faction shares with another?

Whatever makes your doom saying sound rational I guess.

EDIT: Welsh Dragon summed this up nicely.

Yeah I'm not paying for the DLC if I can just play all the new mechanics on Archaon, Sigvald, and that Centaur guy
I am buying it just for Festus everything else is a bonus.

Then don't. That's the whole point of optional DLC, that it be a choice.

You'll still have those three Legendary Lords with their armies from the original Warriors of Chaos DLC, plus a handful of new units from the Marked Chaos Warriors FLC, and the new mechanics they're adding for all Warriors of Chaos.

If at a later date you feel like expanding the Warriors of Chaos with new Legendary Lords to play, and with the Chaos Warshrine and a larger roster of Marked Units to field, then you'll have that option by buying the Champions of Chaos DLC, same as everyone else.

No Total War DLC is essential, so just pick and choose what it is that interests you most. You get a bigger game with more content anyway, because of the way CA does FLC and doesn't tie updates to paid DLC (unlike some publishers I can think of.)

Thank you. I'm glad I could help.

All the Best,

The Disney reference was kinda epic for me. I must admit, when I saw the promo video I had flashbacks being chained to a couch by exwife with my daughter enduring such uhm... ' 'entertainment'.
Great to see you back Welsh Dragon : )
