How to make peace in alliance?
I'd like to make peace while in an alliance, but as soon as I do so the ally will drag me back in. Is there any way to to make the peace agreement work with the ally too?

nope. You can ignore your ally's request to join an ongoing war without any diplomatic repercussion. The only time you have to join to avoid losing reliability is when a war is started (ally is attacked or starts a war)

Give a settlement away is the fastest way to earn good points.

Doesn't that automatically break the alliance? If not, good to know.

Only as a war gets declared.

Nope. Creative Assembly still has yet to implement such a basic feature as "ask your allies to stop waging war with someone" and the like. So if your allies are fighting someone you don't want to fight you can't do anything about it. Doesn't help that the AI is extremely reluctant to make peace in the first place, even when wars are suicidal for it, until it is basically dead.

3K had better diplomatic options. Not sure why they didn't implement some of them.
