Is the Great Maw just a Chaos Pit?
Like, unstable daemons can fuse with terrain and cause mouths (an other parts) to form, is the Great Maw like some half formed daemonic personification that just fused with a Crater because of all the warpstone?

It's a unique entity. It's exact nature has never been explained as far as I know. It WAS a crater caused by a warp stone meteor that wiped out almost all of the Ogre population, and it's now a kind of living god that effects the Ogres (I mean, gut magic is a thing and the maw IS there so we know it has some power), so it's definetly a power of some kind.

My headcannon explanation is that it somehow ended up fused with the souls of all the ogres it killed, and essentially became a physical embodiment of their hunger and greed. A living god made from the death of the species it was sent to destroy. But that's just me.

It's definitely not a daemon though. Because it is a permanent fixture in the world.

I'm pretty sure what you described is the closest thing to an actual explanation one would want to give if asked and allowed to answer. At least something along those lines.

That sounds about right, though crater is a bit of an understatement. The thing goes right through the planet, the other end is where a certain water loving von Carstein decided to move in because it conveniently drags in a vast part of the sunken ships and more importantly their crew.

Canonically, no. Whatever the Maw is, it's unique and definitively not Chaos-aligned.

Nu-uh, nope. Last time I answered a question about the great maw, I got flagged for it.

Its a magic Sarlacc Pit from Star Wars which was already magic to begin with but with even more magic in Warhammer

Daemons can be bound to warpstone don't dematerialize, they're basically just permanently anchored to the object until something frees them.

My thoughts were pretty much the same I'm just seeing it surrounded by Nurgle's corruption thinking "Hey, that looks like a big Chaos Pit"

Don't forget it is also warping Zhao Ming's mind as well.
