Should just be an option to turn it off by default.
Options are never bad.
thats nothing new. The issue is that you have to repeat this process every time someone levels up. Isabella for example will have an arm with 8-12 heroes early on. Each unlocking two mounts. So you have to set it back over 20 times in the span of 15 minutes.
There are equally as many opportunities where having a mount can screw you over.
ESPECIALLY for flying mounts which get absolutely screwed over against certain factions and sieges.
Also all horse mounts are generally crap unless you have them on a caster.
I agree the big monstrous mounts and chariots are generally superior to being on foot for those that can unlock them.
Not picking a mount you unlocked may cost you some combat potential.
But accidentally and unwittingly bringing the wrong mount can literally cost you the hero/lord.
