Sword of Khaine

Is there a list of races that can and can't grab the sword of Khaine? (taking it from another lord, not taking it from the shrine) I started a N'kari campaign that was all about getting the sword and was very disappointed when i realized i couldn't grab it with N'kari. Also, what races/factions are best for going after the sword of Khaine. I'm thinking Morathi and Taurox are probably the two best factions.

Only Elves can take the sword from the shrine.

As any other race, you'll need to smack an Elf carrying the SoK in order to get it. Which works for some, and doesnt for others.

Yeah im not talking about taking the sword from the shrine. I mean taking it from another lord in battle

Any lord can steal it from an elf lord that draws it, unless it’s glitched like it was in 2 for a while where it resets if you beat the lord that has it

Taurox can steal it in WHII, im assuming he still can in WHIII

It’s not N’kari that’s glitched it’s the script that transfers the sword

I’m saying nobody could steal it, so only the elves could ever have it because they can draw it, but none of the other factions AI could take it anymore than you could

Like I said, some players have had no issues. Other players have had issues taking the SoK.

I had it as N'Kari, it was awesome! I held onto it too long, and campaign became a slog, I couldn't win. I read Daniel cannot get it, but he would be the only one.

edit: there is another thread i vaguely remember reading about the sword not being transferred properly. i have not paid close attention, the sword usually bounces back and forth between avalorn and cult of khaine in the first 50 turns in my games.

Oddly enough, the AI seems to be able to get it even on heroes. In my campaign a Death Hag was wielding it.. somehow.
