I think I had 1.3k weapon damage on him last I played Imrik. He hit so hard it was absurd. Or was it Malus? Either one of them will ♥♥♥♥ on Vlad. i played them back to back so I might remem wrong.

For sure. Fire against the undead is amazing. It's not only slows regen it burns. Malus kills everyone. Now if people want to moan about an absolute unit of a lord then he's the go to guy. I've killed entire armies with him.

I had Beastmaster hero with him with the name of power that gave him the ability to give someone else blood fury. It was spicy.

Vlad is only hard to kill, but his killing power isn't that high compared to some others. Most melee legendary lords can kill thousands of t1 troops.

Vlad is actually stronger when his army is crap as he can lose all of it and not trigger the army losses. There are a number of ways to kill him but he is one of the worst lords in the game to throw numbers at and expect results.

There's two LLs in the vampire counts that you NEVER throw raw numbers at. Vlad and Ghorst. Vlad will just massacre them by blade and spell, healing the whole time with triple-strength Hunger (because his sword is double strength hunger and stacks with it). Ghorst is a regenerating mortis engine that also has Wind of Death.

In fact, Wind of Death is enough reason to never try to blob down vampires.

But Vlad is a special case among them. He's a very small target since he's always a foot lord, which makes shooting him harder and makes surrounding him far less effective. He's armored like a freaking Dwarf Lord or Chosen. He's got very good melee stats, and his attacks are multitarget, making him the absolute bane of multi-model units. He's very much abnormally fast for a foot lord, so disengaging from him is a serious pain. He has boosted regen cap. He has even more boosted regen cap if Isabella is with him (and she's a duellist lord/hero, so enjoy trying to melee him down with a lord if she's around). Oh, and let's not forget that he's a Loremaster of Lore of Vampires, just as old as Arkhan the Black and Khalida. Was a Nehekaran general before being turned into a vampire, and when Nagash fell, Vlad's mastery of magic was enough to *remove the enslavement feature from the ring without destroying the rest of the ring's functions*, meaning Nagash could never control him again.

Vlad Von Carstein is not a normal enemy. He's up there with nightmares like Archaeon and Malekith. He was a terrifying master of warfare when Karl Franz's great-great-great-great-great-great-great grandfather was born. And for over a thousand years before that too.

Vampire Counts are one of the few topics it is always appropriate to necro for obvious reasons.
