Global Nerf to "Ranged"?
it seems all ranged troops,siege weapons,mounted ranged, war machines, magic chariot.

do have lower ROF than WH2, from a range of 1-3 seconds.

which makes an issue for ranged focus faction, while buff faction that do not yield ranged firepower.

is there a real reason for the nerf?

Ranged has allways been the way to win on higher difficulties if you just wanted to cheese, i didnt know they was nerfed, but it makes sense it was easy to make ranged units over perform

agree some units were too good, but others didnt. global nerf to anything having the tab "ranged"in it , would make more balancing issues than fix.

with melee focused faction, corner camping still can be done.

with strong melee troops to cover weak Arty or ranged troops , is better than having the opposite.

its minor change, ranged units still far superior choise than any melee unit in order factions roster except specific doomstacks like bear riders

In 1 and 2, all ranged units had an innate +10 reload skill, which was removed in 3. A step in the right direction.

Naah ranged is still the way in campaign.
Dealing dmg without receiving any is still the way, if you can't heal dmg taken.

After the massive ranged meta of 2, the changes to make melee feel better is nice. Ranged or ranged defence stats could still use some adjusting but it feels overall better than 2 did.

maybe move their basic ROF to Vet, or atleast buff other stats.

try playing Nurgle against High Elves or Wood Elves.
And from my own experience playing Ikkit ranged still utterly wrecks

yeah nurgle is not that strong, and you still got the long arty Artillery though.

yes ikkit claw and the vermins was the real ranged meta.

but look at the empire, its strength is based on their arty.

Obviously CA is pushing towards making more melee or balanced armies. This is pretty apparent by the fact they significantly reduced melee penalties at v.h battle difficulty to make melee viable. In TW2 unless it is your chosen fighting vs enemies clanrats 1 vs 1 your melee will almost always rout instantly due to heavy AI buffs.
So you never recruited melee in TW2 on higher difficulties and ran 18 sisters doomstacks because ranged did'nt suffer from melee nerfs. Instead players used clever tricks like summons or checkerboard formations to distract enemy melee and then melt them with arrows.
I for one welcome this change. After running 90% ranged i welcome this new change as melee does'nt seem completely useless anymore.

i would agree, if factions did have decent melee units to maintain the frontline.

just look at the empire halberd your only choice vs Cav and frontline units, but still is too weak when compared to other choices.
