I started a campaign with him today, and got to turn 85. My impressions so far are he's an incredibly strong character himself. He has great buffs for his army, and the upgrade system for Warriors of Chaos is a lot of fun. I'm unsure of some of his faction's mechanics, but he's still fun to play as.

Bel'akor is absolutely insane IF you're the type of person who can take advantage of all of his best traits, like what Supreme Patriarch pointed out. I'm terrible at playing him right now, got a lot of practice to do to play the more complicated factions still, but my god the amount of tools this guy has. It's fantastic.

Aslong as the vasal system doesn't bug out hes fun.

Vasal bug plagues all of the WoC lords atm tho.

Currently Belakor is objectively the best WoC faction, I think the others should get access to exalted demon infantry and demon princes, but he can keep unholy manifestations to himself, or perhaps the others can get 1 of the 4 he has that is tied to their god.
Only CoC LLs should get access to exalted demons of their respective god.

As far as I can tell he is the best WoC lord faction-wise, he gets the same units as the rest BUT he also get exalted demon infantry which the others don't and although difficult he can turn some enemy generic lords into demon prince lords for himself.

Also he gets some powerful unholy manifestations like setting up teleporters wherever he wants.
Btw is it possible to close those teleports? I noticed that old ones don't disappear when you summon a new one. Can Be'lakor technically cover the entire map in them? That sounds very powerful if true.

They cannot be closed, so as far as I know you can have them all over.

That sounds pretty powerful in multiplayer campaigns lol, reminds me of vampire coves that also can't be destroyed even though they can spread vampiric corruption around and steal money.

teleport mechanic makes him the strongest WoC faction. if you rush the teleport cooldown reduction technology you can spam the portals all over norsca. this makes it super easy to defend. you can also go through the shadow rifts, and then go through them *again* on the same turn. since you're standing on top of the portal it doesn't matter that you have zero movement. this means you can jump between every portal you have put down. it also means you can access the warband recruitment of every province you have a portal IN ONE TURN. it's turn 80 and i have about ~8-9 shadow rifts down and when i recruit a new lord and can fill their army up with chaos giants, aspiring champions, chaos warriors, chaos knights, dragon ogres, all in one turn by using the shadow rifts.

i also sent a hero all the way down to antartica to put a portal down. so i now own the 4 dark fortresses that oxyotl owned lol. easy money.

as for the daemons and daemon princes. daemon princes are good, but regular chaos lords have a skill that gives your chaos warriors and chosen +10% physical resistance. and regular lords can already mount a chaos dragon at higher levels. so i don't see much point in spending 10k souls ascending them to daemonhood. better off spending 10k souls on spawning high tier daemons or buffs.

but tbh people here are saying his access to daemons is OP, but you don't unlock them for ages and even when you do unlock them you only get 1 high tier daemon every 4 turns. so in 20 turns you could have 5 keeper of secrets. big whoop. i use some regular daemonettes/bloodletters here and there. and i've been spawning in slaanesh warshrines. but that's about it. high tier daemons aren't worth the souls and the mortal roster already kicks ass.

Considering how long their cooldown is, 15 turns default, 10 when you research a technology, I personally assumed they are suppose to be permanent. Plus you have to either fight a Tzeench demon faction, or spend 2k souls to get a charge for opening new rifts.

vampirate coves do not "steal" money. they just increase their owner's income by 50% of that settlement's income.

you can also get rid of a cove by razing your own city. but that's probably a bad idea. regardless, with how corruption mechanics work now a faction would only need ~4+ untainted or other corruption to stop 1 cove. so unless you can stack 2 corruption ports in 1 province it's hard to do anything really annoying.

You shut your dirty mouth, mister! It's bad enough that CA keeps changing (mostly nerfing) stuff after listening to multiplayer "pros" whining, we don't need them to start trying to "balance" things for multiplayer campaign as well.

it's currently bugged and using the unholy manifestation does not consume a charge.

and if it is fixed, in the early game you fight a tzeentch army, then your capital is occupied by tzeentch, and finally you can chain sack the minor settlement to stack charges. if you stack up to 5 charges that'll last you until turn 40-60 easily when you'll have enough souls to sacrifice at will.

also, the cooldown for the portal resets anytime tzeentch ascends in "the great game" mechanic.

and yes they are permanent. turn 85 on my current campaign and none of my portals have disappeared.

Hey, as far as I'm concerned multiplayer changes shouldn't apply to singleplayer at all. Let wannabe pros have their own boring version of the game. But with how much effort CA put into the multiplayer campaigns this time (at least compared to previous games) you would think they'd keep powerful campaign mechanics in mind.

Yeah, portals make him pretty easily the most 'playable' WoC LL, I think. I don't think his other faction advantages are that great; Princes are nice but not broken, and while he gets extra units I believe the other god aligned Lords get better units via tech. Archaon and Kholek get other buffs for vassals etc.

But portals are insane. Permanent, no drawbacks like rifts in RoC, free to use so you can do the recruitment tour cheese, and spawnable ANYWHERE as long as you can see an army there. The ability to redeploy troops across the entire world is amazing with the sheer size of the map, and with the requirements for longer campaign victories you pretty much need to go everywhere at some point.

The portals are ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ awesome! It's he the only demon LL with them? Super fun bouncing around the map

I have a feeling those are going to be nerfed eventually. I hate when they nerf the solo experience
