How do I get Vokmar?

Anyone know how I get Volkmar to join me as Karl Franz? I've already got both the wizard and Boris but not sure how to get Volkmar back?

So he's gone. Suddenburg is taken over...so that means he's gone?No way I can get him?

I think he was one of the LL's they moved to a different stwrting location. He starts way down South below the badlands (think people call it the thunderdome).

I wonder if moving him down there helped weaken the Empire campaign overall...

A faction can be revived if it rebels. You can try to force it on whoever the new owner is. I wouldn't force it on yourself, you'll have a huge negative relations with them that will take a lot to mend.

If his faction is defeated, just take over Sundenburg (that was his place iirc), but instead of occupying you should've option called "Liberate", which brings back his faction, which you can then confederate later down the line

Ok I found him in one settlement way down south. How can I get him to join me/confederate?

If you don't see the option in diplomacy tab, then you have to own The Grim and the Grave DLC. Then it will become available

Volkmar has his own faction in the southlands now.

This is interesting. I don't have the Warhammer 1 Volkmar DLC however in the previous mortal empires I was able to recruit him in the Empire Campaign.

Please can someone tell me 1. Am I able to get Volkmar as one of my lords as Karl Franz (the same way I can gave Gelt and Borris Toddbringer) or am I not allowed to. 2 Do I really need to have the DLC even though in W2 you didnt?

You were definitely supposed to have the DLC in order to use him in WH2. If you were able to access him without it then its likely whoever programmed it in forgot to tie him to it so he wasn't locked off if you played as Franz without the Grim and the Grave.

If you don't own the DLC for a lord in question then the confederation option just won't appear when you're in the diplomacy screen with their faction.

But you don't confederate that way now. You get a message every 20yrs and if you have good fealty it will offer it to you. Volkmar is in my diplomacy screen but he isnt an elector count and I can't see a fealty number for him.

hes down in the badlands now, aka orc and tombking land. so it will take a while before you even see him (if he is alive that is considering the badlands turned into a battle royale with the amount of "evil" factions are down there now)

Vogmar shouldn't be part of the Elector counts system and diplomacy should work with him as normal like it does with Markus Wolfheart. Its only with the regular Elector Count factions that these special rules apply (which includes Gelt as he's controlling the Solland).

Ok I just checked and in fact I do have Grim and the Grave DLC...yet there is no diplomatic option to confederate with him.
