They've been good for awhile now, to be fair.

I saw the stats for the tzeentch varients and they looked pretty good

Testing them and questioning it myself. The Tzeentch RoR were great, I am hoping the regular champions hold up. I think it'll be another DLC where we get the non RoR monogod variants. That might be where we see some nurgle corruption bursting out the armor that people are hoping for, as an example.

Check enticity video on them. They mix up really well in other units, from marauders to chaos warrios

Even without mixing up they still hold their own versus elite Infantry, monstrous cav/inf and even single entities. They are really solid both at holding the line and hitting back, each model is like a mini-hero.

But is good to promote a chosen unit to an aspiring one? Because in the promote list, aspiring champions are the last.

I have found that it is still better to have majority chosen and not champions, while champions are fine in normal InfVSinf their low model count makes their damage output sort of slow. So having them mix up with chosen will make both regiments safer and deal tons of damage.

I can see them being good when breaching the gate for example. I think i'll keep one in each army if I can afford it. You can breach with spawn, but they are vulnerable to the inevitable spears a lot of factions use on the other side of the gate, and tend to get stuck in there unable to withdraw easily.

They also make a good bodyguard unit for any single entity I would suppose.

If they get stuck i tend to just plump a spell on top of them, since they take little damage from aoe.
Thats another good thing about them.
