-Larger mass allowing you to disengage from melee easier
-Hits harder as well as hitting more models with larger attack animations
-Bullys anything that isn't anti large
Sounds like you haven't even tried it yourself so maybe you should start with that. then form an opinion on it.
Unless 1.2 fixed this, Dragon Form was barely able to hit anything before. Couldn't even break a single unit of peasant archers.
Last I played Cathay was in 1.1 on a VH/VH campaign and I never saw anything like that happen. Zhao was honestly the only reason I was able to pull off a few disaster battles.
she kicks half an armies ass as human without any real damage
turns into dragon for a few moments and loses half her hp
yea, flying is nice but with how much range and artillery the faction has its not like you cant reach out
and i honestly doubt the hitting harder part the stats im pretty sure are the same, and there is a max number of units an animation can damage
and the increase doesnt compensate for the increased amount of units that can hit her
and while mass is nice to escape, i havnt needed to as human form while how quick she dies as a dragon just makes the mass be a solution to a problem the dragon gives
Odd because thats the complete polar opposite experience I've had with Zhao Ming, I found that most times his human form did nothing for me and I spent 90% of battles in dragon form and the only time I've had to be careful with him is when lots of ranged and artillery units are present. I've never used Miao Ying but I assume there's not that much difference between them? If that is the case though that genuinely sucks.
just that noodle form is a bit pointless
especially giving up most spells for it
went noodle a few times in town fights to cross the map faster but thats about it
That said I've always used him like I'd use a HE dragon mostly for harrassing ranged, breath attacks and hitting units engaged in melee in the rear. They seem really good on paper and they are but they're slow and bulky and outclassed by smaller, faster moving and harder to hit units like phoenix's and you kinda just have to be mindful how you use them.
either cathay, skaven or tzeensh, all of them have lots of pikes and ranged hitting dragons hard
meanwhile my ranged damage kills their ranged well enough and my infantry holds for them to do the same to their infantry
find more use slowing enemies to a crawl or dropping damage spells on enemies then just a charge can do
Bugged, how? Because they all work as they should.
There's 2 bugs with Sems atm. One is where they turn around and stop attacking if they knock their target backwards. Which only happens realisticly if they're dueling without any intervention.
The other is that flying units, not just sems seem to hump and not actually do a attack. This can be negated by landing them prior.
But please, enlighten me. How are Sems bugged ?
Dragon lady = spells better, use dragon form early game for fighting, and late game for travel and the occasional bullying of arty/ranged/SE
But really either way should probably work.
That's a matter of opinion. I actually find cathay heroes to be basically all around trash units. Not good at melee, not good lores of magic. Miao is a hybrid life yin caster. Much better use of winds than heavens or metal.
I also tried speccing her for melee, popping out of dragon form to cast earth blood to heal up but no further investment in her magic. Was much less useful overall
