I will accept that Gorgers did not need to be nerfed if you can tell me how you would beat a Gorger Doomstack (19 Gorgers + Skrag) with every race, or even just one race.

Gorgers had minotaur performance before patch on the offensive side. While minotaurs had more armor, gorgers had stalk and unbreakable, which makes you in a good position to avoid ranged fire before you engage.

If you do no understand that, maybe you not make threads about balance. Minotaurs cost 1600, while Gorgers 1100. If you think in single player, Gorgers where tier 3 while minotaurs tier 4. Getting access to tier 3 as opposed to tier 4 is very big in time required.

Sure, I'll allow that.

yup; '''balancing''' things based on what multiplayer nerds cry about on reddit is an old and famous rts killer.
How is it that all two people have so much pull with a multi billion dollar game company?

Well, first units I had in mind were terrorghest, carnosaurus, the anti-large statue from the TK (can't remember the name rn), Grail knights, possibly knights of the realm with cycle charge, chosen with halberds and surely more I forget.
Don't get me wrong they needed a nerf but the "just one race" made me rise an eyebrow

they were strong in singleplayer too, I had a really hard time fighting skrag as kislev because gorgers would destroy my troops in manual battle

So the way you beat a T3 Monstrous Infantry unit is with a purposely-overpowered T5 endgame monster. Sounds perfectly balanced to me, I'll stop complaining about Gorgers now.

Hey, don't hate the player, hate the game. You asked for "just one race" :3

Simply put, CA is using MP to balance SP.

I'm not supporting what Rosa has to say, but if that is how they are balancing, then they need to keep those people playing and the people who matter are paying attention to what those players are saying.

No, they are NOT using MP to balance SP, because they change units differently in MP and Campaign. MP units get changes SP units don't. People like to say this, but it's more paranoia than reality.

Gorgers got nerfed hard and unplayable

Let's for the sake of argument say that gorgers were nerfed too hard. Is that a bad thing? As CA says, Gorgers were so domineering in use that they didn't really get balance information on other Ogre units. While I wouldn't say they need people to stop using Gorgers for a while - they don't - that would actually be a good thing to see what else is going on with Ogres, good and bad.

I saw a few battles with 'old style' ogre players going with gorger spam and ironblasters (apparently they hadn't got the memo). It was with less success, but they still got decent value with the units - they're far from useless.

Well, multiplayer isn't fun if one unit is dominating. It's a good thing that CA is listening to the (smaller) mp community too.
If gorgers or ironblasters are so OP they can just increase their cost in MP to the sky and dont kill fun for everyone in SP.

In Skrag army their was OP... but they are his favorite unit. I play Scrag to play them as i Play Ungrim to play with slayers.

Why are people so hung up on the idea that ANY nerfs in singleplayer are 'bad'? Are Ogres really fun to play if Skrag + Gorger doomstack is the only viable build?

For me, what's fun is having a variety of units; I deliberately avoid doomstacks due to considering it cheesy and repetitive.

You can buff them back now. Workshop is up.
