Reasons: He is not that evil. I admire the fact that he kinda just want to cook up and spread his plagues with no particulary malicious reason. He is almost child-like, similar to Greenskins. He does love and praises life but for Nurgle you are not really dying when covered by his plagues, you're nurturing and even giving birth to more life. I know its Effed up but he doesn't sees himself as some death and destruction type demon. I like that. He's probably the most unique demon type in Warhammer. I think he's the most creative one too. Not stereotypically evil but not good either, still a dangerous demon. Manages to be different without changing the formula.
Aesthetics. I absolutely love the design of Nurgle and his demons. He looks the scariest and I can't imagine a worse fate in Warhammer than getting killed by Nurgle. He is literally an amalgamation of horror and everything a demon should look like in its true form. Mounstruous, grotesque, disgusting, repulsive, putried, deformed, malshaped a true abomination of hell in every way. There's literally nothing to appreciate about Nurgle's appearance, from a sane point of view. And thats what make him so awesome for me. Nurgle is the final result of degeneracy. So thats why slaanesh lovers hate him so much. GIGACHAD papa Nurgle scares away degenerates
I'm a Chaos Undivided guy but I don't kinda like Tzeentch lorewise 'cause he likes to trick his worshippers/champions as well. You can never trust a trickster god, especially a chaos one. Even Egrimm Van Horstmann learned it the hard way but who cares he's insane anyway.
With Khorne you get fair treatment - fair rewards, fair punishments
Slaanesh pampers you but with pain added
Nurgle pampers you even more but no pain
All in all I like all the chaos gods but Tzeentch is way too unpredictable
You could probably argue for any of the gods as the most powerful.
Tzeentch: God of Magic and given that they're all magic, anything which strengthens the other gods should really be strengthening him too.
Khorne: It's a universe of never-ending violence. Probably the weakest case if I'm being honest.
Nurgle: He seems to be the god of life and, as a bit of an opposite to Tzeentch, the chaos gods seem to draw their strength solely from living creatures so the things he's the god of are the things giving chaos its power.
Slaanesh: the pleasure principle. Even the most simple life is motivated by pleasure to a degree.
If we're talking in terms of this game then it probably goes Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh and lastly Nurgle. Khorne's campaign is just mentally fun (although a bit stressful... I always seem to be 3-4 turns of inactivity away from bankruptcy), Tzeentch is more what I'd naturally want from a Total War faction, Slaanesh is great for when you wanna run around like a loon, and Nurgle... well Nurgle's great if you ever wanna really miss the pace of the Khorne campaign (gorgeous units though).
Game-wise: Tzeentch
