According to the lore, what happens after The End Times?
I googled around and I'm not sure but from what I can gather, the Chaos destroy every settlement in the world. But does that mean every race has gone extinct and never comes back?

I liked how in the first game it was more like that and all Chaos armies that appear in the game would keep respawning until you killed Archaeon. Then in the second game the developers permanently switched that off rather than let you choose how to play so basically the Chaos constantly get weaker every turn no matter what you do because they cant recruit new armies. Seems unfair to that faction whereas in the first game, the Chaos could "recruit" about 10 new armies though they tended to be weaker than your armies so you could auto resolve.

If you destroyed all Chaos forces except Archaeon, it would trigger this event:

The Doom Tide

The Chaos horde has poured in, a remorseless tide scouring all in its path. Yet even the most savage flood must eventually recede, leaving battered survivors to pick through the flotsam on ravaged shores. "We are saved!" they cry, heedless of the fact that tides are certain in one respect: they will always rise again.

The Old World has survived the onslaught, yet now another wave rolls forth from the accursed Chaos Wastes.

(sounds hard but it was fun having all races forced to like each other in order for their survival in The End Times)

You better to comparse it with Golden, Silver and Bronze age in comics.

End Times it's just excuse to renew popular designs and scrap everything that didn't hold up.

Look into Age of Sigmar lore on youtube.

Age of Sigmar is what happens after the end times. While many do not like AOS, to be fair the AOS lore has really become quite interesting at this point now that a lot more has been written. Overall, old world exploded, new worlds are formed which act like Norse mythology realms (-ish). Old races mostly survive via various methods (Lizardmen hop on spaceships, Aelves are rescued by the brothers, Sigmar rides core of warhammer world through space and gets rescued by space dragon, etc.). Time passes, wars pass and the realms are once again mostly taken over by Chaos. Sigmar retreats and seals off his realm and makes space marines ... er... Stormcast Eternals from the fallen so that his army too can never really die. Forces of Order then launch massive attack and make footholds across realms. Years pass and cities are built and empires are formed. Also one very stubborn crazy slayer dwarf pops out of the realm of chaos and is still failing to die. Overall, a lot of the same faces are around and a lot of new story is there.

People just do not like that GW abrobtly destroyed the warhammer world and then changed from "earth" fantisy where you had france ... er bretonia vs germany er.. the empire, to free cities vs sea aelves vs stormcast, etc. and the maps are so big that the territories do not mean as much overall. The entire old world can fit several times over in each of these realms.

While I too started off not liking the AOS lore, I have grown to enjoy it and overall it has many many more supporters than Warhammer Fantasy ever did (by sales data). So while people argue that no one likes it, sales data easily shows that people really do like it quite a lot. Sales went from overall a large loss for GW to now making roughly the same as 40k which is a few orders of magnitude of sales growth after the change.

So he is basically doom slayer.

Also does this mean we get an AOS total war?

It's good that they destroyed the original world in end times, it was kinda racist
steelwork 25 Thg02, 2022 @ 7:29pm
chaos win. everyone dies except lizardmen's slanns who escape in giant magic powered spaceships.
sg1darkcalling 25 Thg02, 2022 @ 7:29pm
We need someone to mod doom slayer into this game. Give him like 400 melee attack and 400 melee defense and a ranged weapon with 1k dps sounds about right.

You forget where the avengers led by Sigmar go back in time to prevent the chaos invasion from succeeding. Preventing the end times.

so basically the End Times is game over and the next title is a new map? I know that's simplifying but if you were trying to explain to your mum would you say that?

Its the end times. Everyone dies, the entire world is consumed by the realms of chaos and demons have the feast of their lives. Slaanesh for instance consumed so many elven souls it left it in a weakened state. The Horned Rat ascends into Godhood and so did Nagash.

Then Age of Sigmar happens, and is the current Warhammer setting. Basically Sigmar somehow reforms in the Warp and gather some of the previous gods and most powerful entities such as Malekith, Teclis, etc and they band up on some sort of Godly Avengers team. Instead of a planet there are now physical realms based on each of the lores of magic, and the way to reach these realms is through portals. Teclis and others managed to imprison/kill Slaanesh and free most of the elven souls, Sigmar creates an alliance of elves, men and dwarfs, the story goes on. Its pretty interesting and it was only poorly received at first by the fans because of how The End Times unfolded (srsly ♥♥♥♥ Mannfred).

After TWW3 there probably will be an AOS TW.

This. God bless Majorkill. Screw having to watch a 2:30h long video when you can get as much info in 15 minutes
you know how futurama ends? kinda like that, with some differences that only the God's acknowledge and really know about. essentially sigmar is a like TGE in 40K during Age of sigmar.

It starts in the 5th millenium IC with the old ones, and about 10k years later in what is called the first millenium because sigmar forms the empire, becomes talos and boom hes a God cause hes the epitome of what righteousness and strength is. he reigns for about 80 years and acsends i guess in 2526 ic.

then he promises to watch over the reikland and claim them as his heirs, also hes norsii.

With how popular the WH Fantasy games have been, wouldn't surprise me.

Old World was reforged into Age of Sigmar. Despite what salty fanboys say, its a MUCH better game than fantasy battles was. Fantasy battles was dying and costing GW money, it wasnt just a copyright thing. Age of Sigmar sees increased sales and support every year. The game is faster, easier, and more fun than fantasy battles was.

Yeah probably because it's Warhammer but without the racist, nationalistic undertones

Speaking as a fantasy fan, i never played the games so i cant compare there. I think alot of us just hate it because of how utter crap the books wrapped some stuff up, killing some characters and making others do completely out of nowhere stuff to wrap up the story. They also ruined slayers entirely, but thats obviously another issue
