Also, keep in mind that autoresolve seems to be massively broken currently. On easy it#s ludicrously weighted in the palyers favor, on normal+ it is ludicrously weighted agaisnt the player.
I hope they'll fix that soon, otherwise there'll probably be mdos to fix the autoresolve balance to bring it at least in lien with twhat it was in TWW2.
I'm currently playing beastmen, Slaughterhorn tribe. I just deployed 2582 (2 full stacks) against a settlement of 178 (Half a stack) ogres. Both sides averages at tier 2, with my units being on average 5 levels above theirs.
I didn't even bother to assault multiple entries. And i still ended up losing LESS amounts of manpower. I lost 83.
This was the 6th battle in a row that says "Crushing defeat" that i just roll over without any kind of strategy what so ever.
Greasus usually ends up being dominated by Grimgor, Ghorst or Kugath, sometimes even Zhao Ming.
Skrag fairs a little better, until either Belegar, Gelt or Wurrzag comes knocking.
It is a bit different in the RoC champaign, because they have far fewer threats. Skrag has no real competitors, as he starts in a corner and everything around him is fairly passive. He will eat the Empire and then slowly expand, but is usually halted by daemonic incursions.
Greasus is also fairly isolated and wont have to fight other major powers for quite a while, allowing him to grow.
As long as they fight within the vicinity of their camps, they are tough to get rid off(compared to when not). But as mentioned above, they have several weaknesses that you can use against them.
This comment goes back to pre-immortal empires on the chaos campaign map. Things were different back then.
Sure, Skrag usually crushes the Border Princes, but thats about it.
What seems to keep them in check is that, while their autoresolve results against some factions are rather strong, their autoresolve performance against the Greenskins is atrocious.
I have seen full Ogre armies of decent units getting wrecked in autosolve against 10 basic savage orc units from Wurzag.
Combined with the fact that Ogre garrisons are a joke I would identify this as a core reason why Greasus NEVER survives against Grimgor and why Skrag only ever seems to do well, if he ends up allying with Wurzag.
