Cathay is fine. And it's best to be skeptical of what you see on YT.
Ye it's the Tau. They even spout rubbish about "teh greiter gud!"
After the HUGE sucess of 40K, Warhammer Fantasy, which WAS ALREADY VERY DARK, became even Darker, because that is what the audience wanted. Warhammer has always been pitch black, all races and factions are extremists of some sort.
They are all absolutist extremists, which is a big part of why the setting was always dark and grim.
pretty much honestly XD
Imagine trying to actually get someone to believe that the word 'utopia' was used in a negative context in a quote describing fascism. Your denial of reality is not my problem. Please seek professional help for your delusions.
This.
The only "self evident" thing around here is how much of an unnecessary edge lord you are 🤷♂️
Grand Cathay
Greatest of the empires of the east is Grand Cathay, a massive
sprawling land encompassing tall mountains, verdant plains
and thick forests. It is a mighty empire made of many
provinces, each ruled by a powerful warlord, over all of which
the Divine Emperor rules.
It is also a land constantly at war,
with the provincial warlords clashing across their borders as
they vie for the Emperor’s favour. For all its size and strength
however, Cathay remains much of a mystery to the scholars of
the Empire, even those that have travelled there only having a
vague idea as to its extent and power.
A wonder of Grand Cathay is Weijin, the Seat of the Dragon
Throne and capital of the empire. Reputed to be the greatest city
in the world, it is home to such wonders as the Paradise Gardens,
the Temple of the Two Moons and the mystical River of Souls,
said to allow passage to the underworld.
So they have their problems, but it's also just described as this mythical and bright land.
If you have even a basic grasp of human psychology, which you don't, you would understand why. Just like with Communism, it's perfect as long as there are no people involved.
But hey, keep repeating Tweets of cool people and e-celebrities.
"A perfect socity" will never exist until you replace living, thinking, finite beings with robots. That is just a fact.
So will High Elves be corrected to fit into the "dark fantasy of Warhammer"? High Elves don't seem to be "grim dark" to me. If high elves will be corrected, I'm sure Cathay will be, too.
Oh wait, when does GW claim warhammer fantasy must be dark or grim dark?
I thought Warhammer Fantasy and WH 40K are different subjects.
