tzeench elite unit balance topic
So I've done some more testing and it is very clear now what makes a unit good.
I've been experimenting for a while with the tzeench flamers, as they are the most unique tzeench unit.
All the tzeench flamers are completely reliant on their ammo, their melee stats are extremely bad, and I constantly see them get completely beaten in melee by everything else, so their entire powerlevel comes from their ranged attack.
The normal flamers are fine, they have lots of entities, shoot great damage and are very effective.
However the chariot and the exalted flamer, both have a big issue, that being that they have no ammo, the chariot can still fire while in melee which makes it okay while it has ammo. but we are talking about a 1700 and 1100 gold unit with only 9 to 10 ammo. This is fine on the smaller flamers as they have more entities, but on the single entity ones, this becomes a big issue very quickly.
This is due to the fact that shooting bolt that do massive damage, its not really a good strategy in warhammer, you'll overkill infantry and large units can simply sidestep your projectile, not to mention flamers often miss their target.
Not to mention the small flamers do 3x the total damage the exalted flamers can deal in total.
To make the flamers feel more worth their price I suggest increasing the ammo count on the single entity ones, chariot and exalted.
It is very common to see artillery or units that behave alike have 20 ammo. I suggest doubling their ammo as well:
(1700 gold unit) chariot ammo 9 to 18
(1100 gold unit) exalted flamer ammo 10 to 20

Tzeench has top mages and top spells. That is plenty for army power, I think.

Tzeench magic isnt all that unique. people really overestimate the lore of tzeench, its just a rebrand of the lore of fire. I just find it extremely weird that the few unique units of tzeench are extremely overpriced and soley rely on a ranged attack for which they have barely any ammo.
I will however say that the horrors are extremely powerful.
