I brought up a few armies of my own, wiped them out, occupied the cities... and a few turns later they reappeared.
Rinse, repeat for the rest of the game. Was not fun, but managed to hold them at bay for the next 100 turns.
Very hard/legendary where your upkeep is higher and they're probably bringing more units may be a different matter though.
Demon souls minigame?
Interesting thought. But wouldn't gifting territory to a friendly AI make them harder to confederate down the road?
I'm just on normal. The ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ upgraded missle towers on the bastion defense sieges are stupidly OP. A bunch of peasant archers and those towers destroyed literally the entire armies before they even reached the walls on normal.
