Game is alergic to alt tabbing as ever...
Give it an hour into each session, I alt tab to change a video in the background and the game crashes and doesnt have the decency to close with alt f4 or dragging it to another desktop (i have to restart). Cant wait for mods to make this part 10 times worse...

Also god forbid you alt tab when loading...

just turn on windowed mode, then it shouldn't be a problem.

I fixed this by editing my preferences.script.tx under %appdata%/Roaming/The Creative Assembly/ Warhammer 3/ Scripts.

Changed GFX_Fullscreen to false and X_pos and Y_Pos to 0. Credit to CA_Ben for the fix.

Windowed mode in game warps the screen and send the cursor off line for some reason, at least for me.

Try windowed mode, that's the official work-around for now.
use windows mode. Windowed mode does not reduce performance in warhammer 3. I tested it.

sounds strange, I never had issues with it.. well not in total war atleast.

Fix for Windowed mode being misaligned.

Start the game. Options > Graphics > Check 'Run in window'. Apply Changes. Exit game.

On your pc, go to:

C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Warhammer3\scripts

Open 'preferences.script.txt' and set x_pos and y_pos to 0. Save file.
it's not 'misaligned', it's overscanned. also, if you alt tab out of windowed mode, you can't go back without your taskbar overlaying the window.

I don't have a problem with the taskbar... Never had with total war.

I didn't until WH3 either. Now it has that behavior in windowed, windows key crashes and in fullscreen it acts like it will alt tab but just loads the game again.

that sounds weird, Im running it in windowed right and alt tab to post on the forums, no issues so far.
I never use the windows key btw, i just alt tab.

Welp, it just crashed again mid battle and i didnt even alt tab this time. fml.

bruh forgot about the alt tab thing for a second and it instantly blew the application up lol
I'm assuming this problem isn't exclusive to windows 7 as I've seen quite a few posts on the overscanning and lack of alt tab. Me having the taskbar remain when alt tabbing from windowed may be as windows 7 locks the taskbar via a different method than 10. They likely just overlooked this and didn't override taskbar locking for win 7. Doesn't change the fact that a borderless window at the native resolution is still overscanned.

One would think such things come to mind when testing the game for obvious crashes.

I never experienced this issue in any of the TWW games. Including this one. It's alt tabbing just fine for me.
