If an Enemy has 3 souls and I have 2, is it better to restart?

Hey! So, I'm playing as Grand Cathy. Its the furthest I've gotten/ But I got messed up by bird mans realm. First time through the realm I got lost. Second time I made it to the end after some annoying bits, but then it wouldn't let me reach it in a turn. I was litterally standing in the blue circle but it wouldn't let me hit it. So the AI came and stole it.


In this same soul instance, the Oracles of Change have gotten their 3rd soul, and settlements are so far in the Chaos wastes its folly to try and destroy them before the next portal opens.


Am I just screwed being 1 soul behind and should start over, or is this fine still and I can stop them from winning at a later date. Me and the AI need different souls.

You can use the rifts to teleport your Legendary Lord's army around the map. You're either going to need to suck it up, venture into the chaos wastes and kill off Kairos's faction or intercept Kairos while he attempts to grab his fourth soul. You don't have many other options. Maybe a little too early to restart, stick with it... But if he gets his fourth soul then yes, you gotta restart... When an AI faction gets the fourth soul, the armies from the rifts become even stronger... Good luck catching up in the souls race at that point, haha.

You can try to use portals to get to their lands and destroy that faction, and you can buy time by killing them/taking the soul ahead of them in the same realm they need to finish the race.

Also, in theory, if you just went for a domination campaign instead, couldn't you pick a single god's realm and block every other faction from every finishing it, killing everyone who tries to enter?

Say, pick Slaanesh's realm, wipe out everyone else until the rifts close and nobody else can enter, then pick the a 100k reward+some bonuses and leave as you conquer the map.

You can still win, if they get 4 souls before you you can camp your LL at the forge of souls and snipe their LL so they cant do the final battle (if its your ally, break the allience now).
And then just roll over the world while your LL camps the Forge of souls. Just close every other rift with your heroes (recruit a lot of them! every province spawns 1 rift so one hero per province should be alright)

Its still winable, but it most likely boils down to you having to conquer them.

Actually, I won a campaign 1 soul down to 2 other factions. The AI doesn't automatically gain a soul every rift period.

The only realm where that could work is Khorne, but you will fail if an enemy army just enters the realm on the last turn of the portal phase since you'll get booted from the realm while they don't.

depends on difficulty, perhaps: just finished the campaign 2 souls down on Hard campaign, because for some reasons northern provinces just botched their attempt to claim the Forge after getting 4th soul.
Other contestants had 2 or 1 souls as well.

It isn't always a guarantee that an AI faction will succeed in a realm, so it is worth carrying on. If they do get 4 souls, like Emilia said, just attack them in the forge.

If it has not already been mentioned. If only one faction is ahead of you stalking their LL with a few heroes and closing all adjacent rifts before they can interact may prevent them from getting their 4th. Not foolproof by any meant but is possible.

if its khorne or nurgle, go in after them and kill them
you just equalized the race
slaanesh cant be used, tzeensh is a gamble but theoretically doable

Nope! They need Nurgle, I need Khorne and Tzeensh. Tzeensh has screwed me over twice wen I tried to get it.

Thank you everyone for the advice. So if I understand this properly, if they get all 4 souls I get teleported to the Forge to try and beat them? I was under the impression the Forge could only be accessed once you collected all souls.

It works in any realm, and you don´t get booted from the realms when the rifts close, either.
