The cinematic trailer was to tease the announcement of the Cathayans. The Ogres are sandwiched right between Kislev and Cathay. The CD are on a valley like wasteland right behind Kislev. Cathay would have no one to fight. Kislev would be overwhelmed.
Ogres are the logical sense.
Ah sorry, I was talking about the last race pack for WH2 and not the first race pack for WH3.
I guess it depends how one interpret
"We currently planning to have Race Pack as the Early Adopter bonus for Total War: WARHAMMER III – stay tuned for all the latest details about this as soon as we can reveal them!"
And since Norsca was a Early Adopter bonus I can see we get a similar thing for WH2.
As I said, Norsca was a Early Adopter bonus, same as WH3 "might" be getting.
So all that is missing is the "playable in the first game ahead of" and I could be right. Well, guess we just have to wait and see whatever or not it will be a day 1 DLC or a Early Adopter bonus Race Pack.
New ones says "race pack for WARHAMMER III"
1. It's a race pack, not a campaign pack. That means a lower budget, and probably a lot of disappointed people if it's the Ogres or Chaos Dwarves
2. Dogs of War fit easily on the Vortex map (New World Colonies) as well as Mortal Empires (Tilea, Estalia, Border Princes). Thus far, CA has been careful to ensure that everything coming to WH2 is available on the Vortex map. While I've heard Milkandcookies' idea about the Ogres being a horde faction, or perhaps a semi-horde faction like Norsca, I find myself unconvinced that CA could make hordes not awful in the brief period remaining of WH2's life cycle. As to Chaos Dwarves, while they easily fit on the Mortal Empires map, it would be impossible to put them on the Vortex map, and demanding that players own both previous games just to access the pre-order is not going to make fans happy
3. As a faction, there's plenty of demand for them, but little real reason to make them as a DLC for WH3 (though they'd certainly fit on the WH3 map somewhere). It would be the last chance to have them for Dogs of War fans, whereas with Ogre Kingdoms and Chaos Dwarves we know we're getting both sooner or later anyway
4. Dogs of War offer the opportunity to pre-create assets for some more difficult races (mainly looking at the Ogre Kingdoms and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥'s Maneaters). This reduces overhead down the line, and ensures that the company gets money early for assets it needs to create either way.
5. We're getting it for free if we pre-order. That's a potentially serious sacrifice to income if they give us the more popular Chaos Dwarves or Ogre Kingdoms, and besides those two the only good options for DLC races are Nippon, Ind, and Khuresh (I discussed this in more detail in another thread).
Why would a TW:W3 pre order race need to fit into the vortex map from TW:W2?
