perhaps, perhaps not. You cannot possibly know this for a fact.
And yes, mods do screw up the files, and take way more space than they should, aswell as never being properly balanced.
If it is not a good C&C mod or The Protectors, I will just not even try it, these days.
The problem with that is that it's abandoned and mostly unplayed so of course there's no DLC. Who knows what it might have become, and it would have given the historical guys another game option.
But whether you agree with me or not, the reception for ToB certainly doesn't help with getting a new historical title.
He got screwed with the limitations put on ToB. Hope he's doing okay.
I think mods are worth checking out at least. It's not like you're paying for them. You never know what gem you could be missing out on. Seriously
In tone it is similar to the complaints that came out when game 1 was announced.
The lack of originality and creativity in the "historical TW fans" is quite disheartening....
And no, I never included TW as a true RTS, it's not, you dont build bases, not on singular map, and there are no relevant strategies or playstyles translate from an RTS to TW even in real time tactical battles.
TW is a 4x crossed with tactical battles like Wargame(ie army built before battle).
Out of curiosity, how would you define a "true RTS game"? Not with comparisms and references, but by features?
I ask as this definition seems to vary....
All imho, but any strategy where ALL of the game is real time, like what I mentioned in my comment, TA, Supcom, Warcraft, Starcraft, AoE, Age of Mythology, Command and Conquer series, list really goes on but basically height was late 90's into early 2000's once get up to time of Dawn of War 2 coming out...that's kinda the end really imo. TW is not a real time game 100%, you have a turn based campaign. Wargame has an over map as well.
Like AAA devs used actually care about RTS games, used get one like every second week, seriously aside from indie devs that are nutters like me for the genre, what have had in the last 5-10 years that does not justify saying genre is essentially dead already? the out right rejected Dawn of War 3?
