I personally put Improved rifling 3, hunting sight 3 and any mod of your choice after that.
IR2/3 + HS3 + MS
True N-Tec pros do use IR on it. I'm actually playing with IR2 on it. No N-Tec user with HB2 has ever beaten me.
IR3 is a good mod, too. I only recently started using the CR5/NTec and I had difficulty choosing between IR3 and HB2 but the stock gun just has too much bloom for my taste, even when tap firing. IR3 doesn't have a direct effect on the weapon, it merely extends your window for engagement slightly so the idea that using it makes you a better user of the weapon is silly. If you want to use HB2 and your opp is at 60m+, simply get a little closer or wait for them to get a little closer before engaging, lol.
In either case, the CR5/NTec is very versitile, as I said, so the mods you use depend on your playstyle.
For a red mod, all mods are pretty worthwhile. Heavy barrel is the most popular because it allows one to burst more accurately and cooling jacket is a nice wild card that allows you to decrease your TTK at all ranges if you can control the spread.
With the recent balance patch that has put a larger falloff on the n-tec, Improved rifiling is also a very good choice atm.
