There’s no original background to judge the upscale as with FFIX lost art but still it’s clear as day. But again everyone can download / use it or not. I’ll not not be the judge.
On another note, I doubt they will ever fix the crashes and freezes that I'm having, still surprisingly i had none in the last 2.5h of playing. now if classic mode worked, pressing ESC crashes the whole emulation
Everything that you need to know is written on the nexus page. But again, this is the old mod. The new mod is roughly 80% complete and not downloadable as of yet.
your work is fantastic and we're eagerly waiting for V2.0
There are still some nasty rooms that needs tweaks but the release isn’t too far away. :)
my god!! this should be officialy acknowledged by Square and released as an update!!
I'm not sure about the legal hoops they would have to jump, but square should 100% acknowledge this. Ideally financially compensating him, but even if gratis.
It's legitimately a fantastic work! Giving new life to an all time classic!
How did you do that? Simply the best enhanced prerendered backgrounds. I wonder what miracles you would do with Final Fantaay 8 or 9
Secondly, I'd like to make a question: I am struggling with the installation, maybe I'm just stupid but the hd.dat is not a folder, and on nexusmods it says that I should go to /data/hd.dat/map/mapbin/, do I need to create these folders myself?
Like create a folder named hd.dat, then another one named map and finally one named mapbin to put the mod files inside?
Thanks in advance.
The .dat files are just compressed 7zip files. :)
how did you make such high quality backgrounds?
I use a bunch of different Tools, like Leonardo.AI, Comfy UI, ESRGAN etc... to create the last image.
Sometimes it takes 5 minutes and sometimes it takes several days to "forge" the final Image.
but your work is so good that is almost look like you literally modeled everything from the scratch :O :O
oh my, if you only could make some backgrounds for FF8 and 9 to see how the games would looked like you decided to start to remake their backgrounds
