Its specifically the radical dreamers edition being throttled by something.
I had no issues Day 1 running around on Elden Ring. So my graphics card isn't fried or anything.
OS: Windows 10
PCU: i7-10750H CPU
RAM: 16 gig
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060
My machine is mostly the same as your except runs slightly better on most benchmarks
The issue is some optimization problem.
Things I've done:
I went to NVIDIA settings to set both the launcher and the exe to run
-Low Latency Mode to Ultra
-Power management is to max performance
-Set Vsync on
-Set Max frame rate to 59
I also turned off
-MXAA in game
-Turned off the post processing filter
Right now, the elevator in the games beginning dream - the particles slows my game to a crawl, and the battles are quite bad, slowing also being unbearable. Lowering the resolution helps but I've already made my game look significantly worse than yours at that point, I'm not going to bother if I can't play full screen.
there any other programs that could be eating process's? and is it taking alot of resources itself? when i'm running it it uses like 10% of my cpu and equally very little of my ram. my gpu is only running at 40%
i do know yesterday people had saving issues that were caused by their AV not letting the game do what it's ment to do.. might whitelist the game in your AV so it isn't trying to intercept everything and slow it down

Also try playing it in admin mode, and also if you have MSI afterburner, it messes with alot of the newer games. People complained about it messing up cyberpunk 2077 also, so try turning it off also.
Changing compatibility to Windows 8 fixed boot issues and applying 60fps lock and vsync in Nvidia control panel fixed frame pacing issues.
OS: Windows 10
PCU: AMD A8-7600 with Radeon™ R7 Graphics
RAM: 8 gig
GPU: Radeon™ R7 Graphics
I know it's not a great machine, but I play a lot of games here. Sometimes not at best settings, but it still runs. With Chrono Cross, first I had no issues opening the game, watching the opening, using the menus, etc. The initial problem was that the game crashed every time a got near the right door right after leaving the elevator, at fort dragonia (dream). I solved that by changing video settings in the game's menu (esc) and disabling all the aliasing options. So, I passed the door and activate the aliasing again and the game ran perfectly for like 2 hours... I even had a lot of battles and no lag problems. But after I closed the game, I couldn't even open it again. Now when I try to start the game it just go to a white screen and then back to desktop. Sometimes it says it's an error of driver timeout. I tried to change my drivers to various versions, but none worked again.
Someone has any clue about what I can do?
looks like your video chip is below spec.. just barely
have you restarted since it worked last? might be a break that a restart fixes
Same problem here, game ran laggy so I used borderless mode and started running fine for 2 hours, i went to sleep and the next morning I tried to play it again and I've been getting white screens that close after a while ever since, either that or I sometimes get a message that says something like "the font couldn't be loaded"
Yeah, I had to use some windows tricks to get this broken game to let task manager always be on top to exit it when that happens. I dared to try to run full screen oh noes.
Also, the lies about Duckstation can't go un responded to, look at the animations, and their speeds, thanks, https://youtu.be/zdCLuWtiPvI
Yes, I tried. Restart, reinstall... :(
Well i can confirm Ist might not be the AMD Driver, as i tried the newest Adrenaline drivers, the olders drivers and the Windows stocks too Yet all give me the same issues as you
Also intried all that the other suggested here, Try 2x Aliasing as that worked for me
Edit: Its literally worked ONCE then again crashed with the same errors
My System -
Graphic Card: nvidia gtx 1650
VRAM: 4GB
Ram: 12GB
Processor: intel i5-9350 @ 2.40 Ghtz
Cores: 4
OS: linux mint 20.3
- Also I should note I picked lightest window manager possible and it still be simple to navigate for this operating system because it's for gaming which was xfwm4. Think windows xp type of layout. It boots completely up in 10 to 15 secs tops. Windows 10 it took atleast 3 to 5 mins when it was installed which was over 1 year ago.
Apps I commonly have running in while on steam:
- Firefox, with multiple tabs usually open, sometimes even playing videos on amazon prime, sometimes playing music off of pandora. Never go on face book from my computer.
- A disk management app.
- Occasionally my NVIDIA control applet.
- Sometimes I run my updater while gaming.
- Ocassionally a text editor.
- Occasionally a file management app.
- Sometimes a couple instances of the terminal.
I've had little to no problem after the proton update specifically proton experimental bleeding beta.
Before the update there was .net framework error that would crash the game.
Zero crashes after update.
Had to reconnect my controller while steam was running for this game to recognize it.
An occasional battle stutter, but no frame drops at least with the steam fps counter. And frames don't seem to slow down too much that I can tell visually either.
Haven't modified games default settings other then making it full screen. The default resolution was set to 320x200 when I first booted it up and have no clue why. Is their a device that runs in that that low of resolution these days? Anyways I changed to a ultra wide screen resolution no screen tearing but discovered it doesn't fill the entire screen but at least game is centered. So that it is just black spaces on both sides. They could have made some kind of background for such resolutions sizes I'm surprised they didn't.
