How to let villagers build houses?

They don't. You are the only one building houses and other buildings.

You can hire a builder for the builder's hut that will do repairs for you on the buildings you select, but that's only for repair, not for building up new buildings.

It would be very nice if in the late game you can make builder build or at least carry materials to the build site slowly. I moved my whole village and its very large PITA to have to rebuild it by hand, and move all the mats.
