Preparation:
- Craft half a dozen wooden spears. Cost one log each.
- Craft a stone axe. Need stick and stone.
- Collect some herbs: broadleaf (+5 health), dandelion (+3 health), daisy (+2 health).
Equip the stone axe and wooden spears in the quick slots that are most convenient for you. You will need at least 2 hits from the spear to kill a boar. Head area is the best. You can use the axe to finish off the boar when it's too close.
Have a little bit of practice throwing the spear if you have to.
Hunt: position yourself so that you will only have to deal with one boar at a time, Retreat a little bit if you have to. Sneak as close to the boar as you are comfortable with throwing the spear. If the boar detected you, it will face in your direction. This is a good time to throw your spear, because you will most likely to hit the boar head and the boar will take a bit of time to charge you. If the boar runs away after being wounded, don't pursuit hastily. Make sure that you won't run into another boar without seeing it. You can also let the boar bleed to death (track it down later if you want to butcher it). Use the herbs if you got hurt, then move on to the next boar.
