This could be a problem of connection or settings on your side or the people you play with.

funny that i have hundreds of mp games with no issues joining so to constantly put the blame on the users is absurd, fix the issue that everyone complains about and stop offering work arounds

Those probably use a different system of connecting, or they implemented EOS in a different way. If they knew where the problem was and how to fix it, the devs would have done it already.
Also, not "everyone complains about" it as the co-op works fine for most people. And the workarounds work for some of the others.
