Moose Skulls

So there's a quest to unlock a crest in which you have to decorate a home with 7 Moose skulls. So I'm like OK, I don't like killing Moose, they're the one animal I tend to leave alone, but if needs must. The trouble is, I have hunted 4 separate Moose spawns now and killed 10 Moose's and received not a single skull from them, so what gives, why are Moose skulls as rare as hens teeth ? I only need 1 more skull but at this rate, they're going to be extinct. 10 Moose and not a single skull, is there something broken about this or are they really running around with boneless heads ?

save after you kill the moose and before you take your knife.... The skulldrop is random if you get no skull load again....

Thank you for that brilliant piece of advice, I will try this. I've just finished hunting, every Moose is now dead, there are no spawns left and from 18 Moose, not a single skull. I'll have to put this on the back burner for now until season change Needs looking into devs.

It is supposed to be a rare drop, no one is forcing you to take that quest.

It is supposed to be a rare drop, no one is forcing you to take that quest.

Well, soberly speaking, there is no time limit and if it takes 10 years, it's not a problem. So anyone can complete the challenge at some point. And since the devs have been asked for years for endgame content that is challenging or lengthy by design and now the devs are being asked to make the challenges easier, it's perfectly legitimate to point out that you don't have to do the challenge. You can only use one crest at a time anyway.

Nevertheless, I respect that Lee has set to work to get it all done as quickly as possible :)

Quite correct, I don't need his input, it's usually condescending, as you state. Unfortunately, blocking someone, doesn't stop them responding to a post.

How is anyone supposed to help him get a rare drop? I was just pointing out that the devs don't need to look at it, because the Herald quests are more end game content and aren't supposed to be easy. Just save before you take the quest, if you don't like it, then reload and don't take it.

Who's asking for challenges to be made easier ? I'm not. The issue is with the system ! Not one skull from 18 kills, 2 days game time wasted ? That's just stupid, to be brutally honest. And who cares how fast or slow someone plays the game, there's thousands of games available on steam, we play the game and move on.
