1000 logs

How do I hand in logs?
If I talk to him it just skips past and doesn't give him any logs.

Do I need all 1000 on me at once? I got 300 in storage with 20 on me and wanted to hand them in.

Completing this quest requires 1000 logs. I don't know if having them all in your resource storage is sufficient or if you have to have them all on you (obviously, you'd have to enable unlimited weight to do that). Having just 20 (or 320) will not trigger the quest dialog.

Do note that the quest is not necessary; if you tell him you can't do it, he'll give you an easier task. However, if you do manage to deliver 1000 logs, you get an achievement.

You don't have to. Some people have been really patient carrying them all to near where he usually is, dropping them all on the ground there. Til they have a 1000, then picking them up and waiting til he gets close enough to talk to.

Fair enough. I guess I wasn't patient enough when I did it. I was so tired of chopping that I just wanted it done so I can get my achievement and return to my regular play through lol . Nice work to those who endured.

Build several resources buildings and place a chest in each one, increases the resources chest capacity then place logs into them and eventualy once you get all of them go see him and he will take them out automaticaly and then reward you.

Are you sure he take them out of the resource storage? Afaik he only accepts them from your inventory...

This is the mechanics for the King's quest which you get from the Herald.
The OP is talking about a certain section in the story quest. The guy with the quest will NOT take the logs from the inventory.

Drop the logs at his hunter's hut. When you have gathered all 1000, pick em up all at once and talk to him. But hurry up, the wolves will attack soon

I did his quests many times as he visited every year or every couple years.
The Herald I think he was called.
He told me to leave it in my storage.

You mean the Heralds quests, this topic is about a different, story quest.

thanks, i though they may disappear if dropped on floor.
seem like a lot of trip back to the storage to get more each time. I can only carry around 30 before overloaded

Hi Cellfire please do a quicksave and name it 1000 logs so no matter what you can go back before you complete this quest and try again.
Use the Esc and customize my game set the carry weight to infinity.
You can do it, I went around my several woodsheds production increase logs production added a lumberjack as an apprentice he or she then chopped trees without losing trees and increased the logs production.

Yes, but we are not talking about the herald's quests. We are talking about the quest in the Uniegost storyline where Wolrad asks you for 1000 logs... And for him you need the logs in your inventory, he will not take them from the storage.
