cannot turn over bodies to retrieve bolts
hey all, found an iron crossbow and four matching bolts on year 2 so im more than happy to bring the pain to some bandits, the only issue ive found is that theres no way to turn over the bodies (or as dark as it is "get rid" of them with any sort of tool) so that i have access to the bolt thats in their face down eye socket. anyone know a way around this or have any tips?

I'll try this out, thank you!

It's annoying.
You can very slowly pixel by pixel move the cursor over and slightly past the body, sometimes you can get some of the bolts that way. Doing it while crouching sometimes helps too. But some are just not retrievable.

I wish we could at least kick them or shove them around.
Or why not drag them like you can with objects? I'd love to drag them all to my village and make a giant corpse pile for halloween xD

That is NOT what Halloween is all about.... Some non Christians may take offence at the suggestion..

The author of this thread has indicated that this post answers the original topic.

I also save and reload the game to retrieve bolts from beneath bandit corpses that I can not target. (I don't use the F5/9 quicksave/quickloading - I just use the normal save / load process). Sometimes the reload will not result in the corpse and bolt being in different locations - the bolts are are still stuck beneath the corpse. When that occurs I move a bit further a little away from the corpse & save / reload then come back to the corpse / bolt and this usually has made them render in separately.

this christian does see it as unchristian and wrong for any christian to celebrate halloween.
(to the point I cant such people not very serious as Christians.

to me halloween is and always will be a pagan day of the death.. where people communicicate with the spirits of forefathers..
**and the Living God, has nothing to do with such pagan matters.
-> catholics trying to grab power at the expense of purity of the gospel, maintaining holidays that clearly should be abolished when one converts to becoming a christian.
cause they found it more important to have lots of power and money by having more followers of the institutional church than to have a lot of truelly saved souls.

I do not like halloween events/things being added to any games for that reason.

if we want to dispose of bandit bodies to grab any arrows stuck into it.. we should just get the option "burry body" where we dig with our shovel.. and obtain any items including arrows that are still on said bandit body.
no need for dragging bodies around.

Before we get too serious; I'm sure The Real Authentic One and Only chris here meant it as a joke.
And for me everyday is halloween, so i'd have that corpse pile regardless ;-)

I would at best go medieval : hanging cut off hands of thieves around a statue in village square, public executions, displaying hanged pirates to all sailing into the harbour.. putting heathen skulls on pikes near the border.. to deter enemies from invading.. and displaying bandits on spears near cities, to disencourage robbery.. would be very medieval to do..

but it would be to dark to my taste.. I do slay them bandits.. but they do get an unmarked grave;) which for medieval standards would make me quite progressive;)

also to do what you want we should be able to drag around non dropped items.. you cannot drag around logs you just felled.. you need to pick them up, redrop them and than you can.. but than they look different than the ones with bark..
and if we get that.. I might drag some dead boars to my village and place them above a bunch of open fires;) roasting them of sorts..

Someone suggested a while ago to add the ability to put killed animals over your shoulder and take them back to your home that way.
Could be expanded on so you can pick up dead bandits as well.
Or pick up your toddler son and throw him in the air to play with him, or give him piggy-back rides.
And ofc lift up that cute little lamb out of its enclosure to play with!

Would be nice :-)

Halloween is nothing more than a day people dress up and get free candy. While it may have been religious based at some point it is no longer. I always have to laugh when people start bringing up its origin, no one cares, just give me my candy.

Totally agree religius dogmas only leads to missery. I am a Swede all is equal thats it simple a single branch on a very large tree and we all grow on the same tree.

I just look at it as, often arrows would get broken, so if i cant retrieve em that's what happened. I had come across that weird save and stuff moves around thing...well also some disappears or changes type of bolt lol. since i usually use poison iron bolt and sometimes it changes into other things and appears in other areas.

also i am a druid. i take Halloween very seriously. may your cabbage all taste like boterbabbelaars! take that heretics! dragging all the dead bandits over to dutchgamers basement ... to frame him!

morri playing with the baby mutton again ;) ok its cute but the roosters make me laugh.

this is the same mindset i have with the save trick, i noticed its not perfect but it seems fairly realistic that way that the loading screen is "brb we are taking the bolts out", and if you get em back you were able to and if you dont its just cuz they were stuck or broke off, or whatever the case could have been. I do hate that they can switch types sometimes, but i see this happen moreso with poisoned arrows/bolts as you mentioned, as the regular ones seem to either drop the same tier or just not drop at all
