Personally I prefer throwing stones for fishing, or bow and arrow. Though the bow and arrow is harder now that you can't loose the arrow if the water is over a certain depth

Throwing stone is one of my favorite ways to fish, hunt small animals and sometimes to attack a bandit camp.

I'm surprised the water level didn't rise with the amount of stones I used to fish. Note that this is not for the survival aspect but just for fun as a hobby.

It would be nice if the stones were single use, that's a lot of stones to pick up afterwards.

poke them with the sharp end????

I got the expert fisherman quest ( trick: save before dismembering the wisent as skull drops infrequently but randomly so you can get 1 1st time) end he supplies lotsof fish
