Question about donkey stable
I have a donkey just for riding--don't plan on breeding them. I have a worker assigned and I don't think he actually does anything. He definitely doesn't collect the manure. If I'm not breeding them, do I really need a worker assigned just to keep the donkey fed?

I assign no one to stable and all is fine.

Your workers can only gather manure from the pig sty. And that's like all production just plucked out of thin air. They don't interact with the visual manure on the ground at all. The visual manure is for the player only to pick up - if they want to.

Since horses don't produce anything, a worker there does nothing other than keep their feed filled up. And you can do that yourself easily too. So unless you want a fully automated village where you don't even have to fill up the animal feed, there's no need to assign a worker to the horse or donkey stable.

Btw; despite the name being a bit misleading, a worker is also not necessary if you would want to breed your animals. Your horses figured out on their own just fine how to procreate. xD
