no. it burns when any villager want to take wood and not enough is in storage of allowed types.
+
also :
consuming logs is actually best.
a lumberjack can produce 2 logs/hr per skill level.
each log is worth 10 wood so.. 20 wood per hour.
-
but can only turn 1 log into firewood per hour -1 log of 10 wood +4 firewood of 5 wood = only a 10 wood/hour gain.
thus it is better to run your wood needs off logs but than you must make sure to turn off plank and stick burning...as villagers prefer those above logs.
and which only logs as allowed option it would mean that even if there are planks or sticks, the symbol would apear once logs run out.
I stand corrected in the planks department...
but regardless.. if one wants to burn logs, due it being more efficient to gather more logs than to make firewood :
-also : one should turn off burning sticks regardless if one want to use firewood or not.
->
if you run out of firewood, your villagers will start burning sticks.. before they start burning logs... thats very inefficient and you NEVER want that.
Firewood burning can be left on, if you aint making any.. it's no bother.
