You can't buy them. You can only loot them from animals you hunt.

Also, whether you get a skull or not is RNG and is decided when you skin the animal. So if you want a tip: save after killing the animal but before skinning. If you don't get the skull, just reload and skin again. Do that until you get the skull.

In other words: not all animals have skulls in their heads.

I like to think of it more as them being so badly damaged by your clumsy character's hunting and skinning techniques they are not usable as a trophy anymore :-)

Another excellent tip from Morri. Gonna be doing that for a while from now on, if only for that crest about having seven moose skulls in one home.

Obviously it's a skinning skill issue. But it's less painful to just blame the animal. I know, from experience :D

Yes, and I didn't like this stupid stupid-king's mission at all, I'm not going to do it. How do I get rid of the mission?

You don't do anything. The mission will expire. Press "J" to look up in your journal when that will be.

However, there's consequences. Failing the King's assignment results in higher taxes, a worsened relation with the King, has an influence on your people's happiness (happy when it's a bad King, sadness if it's a good King) and will count towards dethroning the ruling monarch (I believe 3 failures is the magic number to replace him).

Maybe interregnum isn't such a bad thing after all :P

Thanks for your tips. This might be the point of the J button. I don't want to slaughter anyone other than people and animals that attack me. The exception is the domestic animals that are born on my farm, which I also use for meat production. ;-)
