Christmas Decorations

Just curious if we can craft a Christmas tree and decorations. Would that be difficult to add?

Well to be fair it's not just Christmas. There's tons of cultures with a celebration of "we're half way through winter and we didn't die lets eat!" type of stuff. But then you're mixing real world season shifts with a game that already has it's own intrinsic season shifts. I think seeing my people celebrate some kind of winter solstice thing in the middle of their summer would be a little odd lol.

I just want to put a dang tree up and decorate it. lol I'm not trying to push any religion or crazy antics. The ability to cut down a small tree, make wood ornaments and paint them. Just an idea tho

Anything like that would be nice. Perhaps find or receive clay Christmas trees or Santa Clauses, but a nice decorated tree to have would be wonderful. Also, agree there are other holidays to be thought about, many from other cultures. Might be a nice learning experience to introduce what other places do.

We do have snowman outside villagers in wintertime and the next update patch mentions we can build our snowman and have snowballs fights with villagers.
Added according to the beta tester which willl go live soon.
New building - Farm Shed (Employees work in the fields and orchards. Those in the barn don't do it anymore).
New furniture – Composter.
Five new furniture – Containers.
Seven new wall decorations – Reliefs.
New Gate - Plank Gate.
New Fence - Plank Fence.
It is possible to build the snowman in winter.
It is possible to craft snowballs in winter.
Over 20 new locations generated on the map.
We already have the snowman around different towns
so instead of finding them outside towns we can build our own.

IF no Yule type decorations, what about a small Medieval stone pillar marker, or a wreath similar to the ceiling hanging decor for a wall option , or a maypole, heck, I’ll take any additional decor items! I love them all

In reality there is a way to implement things like that without it being "right in their face" kind of thing for those that doesn't want anything to do with WH (world holidays). I enjoy the immersion also, this game is great for that. All you have to do is implement paint colors creation, ability to process or save to tip of a tree, say 4-6', and ability to whittle basic shapes from wood. Collect berries, grass and other foliage to create house decorations. It would then be up to the individuals creative narrative. Just ideas. ;P
