night hunt

every time i get a night hunt quest it doesnt allow me to start it .every season it fails even if i take the quest on the first day anyone else having this problem

The quest says something like "wait until evening" but you have to wait until 8 PM for it to start so don't go to bed before that.

Yeah definitely make sure you're accepting quests on day 1 of a season just for this reason, and like Milinia said it won't be available until 8pm of the night that you accepted it.

But that's the thing with this quest, it doesn't say wait till night time, it says wait until evening which is confusing for some people, including me :)

8 pm is kinda evening. Also, you'll see the quest changing objective as soon as that time hits. So if you are tracking the quest, you should notice it.

I play on 30 day seasons, so I never had an issue with it expiring. I did always wonder why it was called night hunt, since once it tells you what animals and how many, it doesn't matter when you kill them. It counts whether during the day or at night.
But I guess if you play default 3 day seasons, you are kinda almost forced to start the hunting during the same night already, or the quest will expire at season's end like in your case.

Although you also said it fails even when you take the quest on the 1st day. But then you still should have enough time to complete it, so I'm confused as to why it failed for you then?

Another person reported that if they went to sleep before 8pm then the quest would not update to the part where they found out how many +type animals to kill. It seems to require the player to be conscious when 8pm ingame occurs rather than having had 8pm pass whilst sleeping.
The report they made is in the bug section entitled: Night hunt and sleep. (sorry I can't figure out how to link it in this post.)

The first time I took this quest, I sat in town, assuming the animals would be attacking the town. Doh!

I understand it better now. Imo, it should show the second part of the quest regardless whether you are conscious or are sleeping at 8 pm.
I never experienced that issue, cause I don't think I ever managed a day where i was able to go to bed before 8 pm. I keep my village small on purpose, so my Racimir has too many things to do to be able to get an early night :-)

Then again; scratch that. It actually makes sense to be awake. Since you are supposed to figure out what wild animals are bothering the village at night. So you have to be awake when they appear to find that out.

Yes, so long as you waited for the quest to change to a number of bears/boars/wolves needed to be killed you can kill them at any time of day for credit.
