Most people who frequent the forum like the game, otherwise they wouldn't be playing it. :-)

It would help if you explained a bit what you didn't like, so we could tell you if it's still like that.
it was..too slow..buggy...walking from A to B..taking time...and so on...

there is still a lot of deplacement in a relativly empty country. some bandits sometime. must of the game is about manage and decorate your village. If it's not your cup of tea you would not apreciate it

There have been waggoneers added to existing villages, so you can insta travel from village to village. They do charge a fee for each ride, but it can definitely help if you have a way of making money by selling stuff.

You can also buy a mount earlier in game now (the donkey shelter unlocks faster now), and there's an option in the game customisations (also changeable in an existing game) to give yourself unlimited stamina, so you can keep running without ever getting tired.

Other than that, the storyline isn't mandatory, so if you don't like to run around for the story, you don't have to, and a new map (the Oxbow) was added with a completely different story line.

You should definitely try it out again and see if you enjoy it more now. As it's hard to tell for us and only you can be the judge of that. But a lot was added in all those years, so might be worth to have a look!
Definitely also take a look at the customisations, as there's a lot of things you can change to unlock things faster.

Isn't it? I thought it was mandatory to unlock size of settlement. Even if size of settlement is from dynasty rep, this is far easier to get through storyline quests than any other way.

The game isn't buggy, but I don't remember it being buggy a couple of years ago, either.

Everything, particularly in the early game, does take time, and although you can now get a donkey before you can get a horse and there is a carter who can whisk you between villages, it still takes several game years to get a donkey, and the carter is expensive for everyday use, and is no good for getting to or from your own village. Eventually, when after several game years you've been able to give your village a name, he'll take you home, but he will never collect you from your own village.

This is, essentially, a game with a slow pace. It won't really set you targets, except in terms of missions, and when you've completed the storyline there won't be many of these. It is essentially up to you to set your own goals.

That's the chapter-quests. They're basically a small tutorial at 'the Valley'.

The story is the questline around Unigost.
play Oxbow is much better than the original map IMO
so, good that this thread exists, i just bought it and looked afterwards here xD

well i wanted the game anyway and had my eyes on it for quite a while, i hope it meets my expertations

come back and tell us
As a newbie ( just a few hours in) I'm loving the game. The one thing that is bothering me about my existence in-game is that I have no feeling of impending doom. I'm not worried about something tragic or life threatening happening to me outside of wildlife or a tree falling on my head. There just isn't enough danger in the world. Nobody is going to raid my village. That might be the only reason why one day I decide to not play anymore. But i do love the building aspect of the game.

If Manor Lords and Medieval Dynasty had a baby I would buy that game in a heart beat.

Most people play this game for exactly that reason. It is relaxing.

I like the fact that I'm not constantly in danger. Every other game is like that.
I want to play a casual, relaxing game and build up my Town.

Basically like a Stardew Valley in a 1st person open world.
