How much heat protection can you get?
I got sewing up up to lvl 2 and it's currently first day of summer year 4. It's hot. I got all the best heat protection I can get + 1 point in temprature protection in the skill tree and I can't stay out inteh sun for more than 10 sec before the guy starts to complain about how hot it is. My heat protection is 36, and from what I can see, there is only 1 item in sewing hut 3 that gives better heat protection and only by 4 points, for a total of 40. I highly doubt that will be enough. Is there no way to get better protection, or will I have to rely on food to keep him cool, or just suffer through his constant complains?

Not sure about the clothes, but there's a potion of temperature you can craft that'll give you even more tolerance for quite some time.

Randomly you can get very hot days where clothes alone won't suffice. It shouldn't happen too often once you have the best clothing though.

That one item can make all the difference. I suspect the game is designed for the 40% threshold. I have all 4 light clothing items, 2 pts heat tolerance in the skill and never get a complaint. I don't need the help from food anymore. I can swap the light tunic for the thin gambeson and it's mostly ok.
There's no significant consequence to heat except for the horrifically annoying dialog. Get the beet soup or the potions if you can.
Don't forget a hat (IIRC the straw hat is best).

That is whst I had and mostly it was ok. It was just the first day year 4 that was so hot. I quickly harvested linen and spent the rest of the day, threshing, dpinninh, weaving, making fertiliser etc, (no fast crafting). On the second day it was cool enough yo be outside with those clothes.
You can see the heat tolerance improvement of every item of clothing in the game. You do have to work up to the best but light shoes, light trousers, light good hat, oddly enough there is a better shirt than the light one but it will take you a bit of time to get the blueprint. Use the potions, buy that one early on for heat tolerance and look at the foods. See if there is one that gives better heat tolerance. They do whine a lot but once you get it sorted you will never hear a peep again. I can vouch for that.
