No wars, castle, Kings here. Not much fighting at all.
Gameplay wise they are completely different and also two different genres.
(Medieval dynasty is a mix of survival, rpg and city/people manager, with emphasis on the latter)
I did buy KCD on sale a while ago after reading a lot of people in these forums being really positive about it, and it looks like a game I'll really enjoy as well.
I'm looking forward to playing it, but atm I'm still too obsessed with Medieval Dynasty :-)
and if you own the "From the ashes" DLC in Kingdom come, both do have village management.
KCD focuses more on story, the Story of Henry in particular. (without DLC)
MD is less story paced and you're not playing the story of one person but the story of a family (or dynasty)
So if your character dies, you continue with a different one of your dynasty.
So your task is founding a dynastie. It's bit like settlers in first person view.
They are both decent games in their own right. I suggest grabbing both if you can afford it. If you have only enough to purchase one, I'm partial toward Kingdom Come Deliverance.
The reason why I decided to purchase Medieval Dynasty because it gave me what I wanted from KCD. What I wanted was the ability to get married, have children, build my own town/village, and feel like I am living in that time period which it does perfectly.
For me having both games is great, and I enjoy both equally. Not one is better than the other.
Also, KCD is more about realism where MD is not. As a side note, KCD has a game mechanic which may have you want to pull your hair out. It's combat is something you may or may not have experienced before so it does take a bit to get use too.
My only suggestion is is to train, train, and train some more, and keep training.
Hi, what about the other KDC mechanics? Like in KDC what you wear and how clean you are matters. There's even voice acting like in Witcher 3 and you get multiple ways to solve a quest at times.
Also in MD, is there character creation or do I have to stick with another kind of Henry?
You and the inviroment building your vilage and bringing in villagers. Hunter gatherer sim.
Uhm, yeah because they look the same and I don't know what MD is like so I ask people to compare them. Market research.
KCD seems very high commitment which is why I refunded the game in the meantime. But I did enjoy the 2 hours I've had with it. So are you saying that this game is more casual when you say "survival peaceful game"?
I agree it does matter in KCD to keep yourself clean. Realistically no one wants to be smelling armpit everywhere you go so yeah it is very important along with keeping your gear in good working order (keeping swords sharp, clothes repaired), and making sure use use the right gear which you are currently able to use.
I have found in KCD when you are given a task there are different ways you can approach the task, and have different outcomes It does allow you to do what you would like to do at your own pace, and how you see fit to accomplish the task at hand.
For instance. I was investigating a rumor that three young ladies were practicing witchcraft so I simply followed them as it was beginning to get dark. I stayed outside far enough so I could listen, and yup that is what they were up to alright. Not cool. I won't go any further into it because it would spoil the fun but rest assured I made sure that someone paid with their life. I could have benefited by allowing this person to live but I decided justice was worth more to me than snuggling up to a bottle or two of voodoo juice.
Another mission early on allows you to execute the mission two or even three ways. Of course I chose a path I shouldn't have but I was still able to get the job done but I felt really bad about it but it is what it is.
The entire game is this way for the most part.
it's also realistic when it comes down to be mobbed by more than one person/bandit just like it would be in real life. Normally you can get away from more than one but you have to be aware of your surroundings meaning if you are on a horse don't stick around. They will pull you off that horse pretty quick, and have at you, and is worse if they have a dog with them. Dang mutt can really cause an issue, and tie you up.
combat is all based on how well trained you are along with how fit you are as well. I have this tendency to wear the best I can wear, and carry the top sword which I was able to get only to find out all of this went against me because i wasn't skilled at all whatsoever.
You can't be a peasant thinking that you can wear 80 pounds of armor, and be able to jump like jack be nimble, and swing a sword half your body weight. You have to train for it, and that takes a lot of training. KCD is not easy on you so treat the game realistically.
The game does take a bit to get use to. The combat is the biggest hurdle, and it will cause you to want to push your head into something BUT just take it easy on yourself.
I strongly suggest that you train, train, and train some more, and only wear gear you are able to wear, and only use swords which your current skill level can handle.
One of the best things about this game is the landscape, and it is very realistic, and when you are travelling just know that you are travelling down the same roads people did back in that time period. It's very authentic.
Also, explore. There are so many cool things going on out in this world. I have come across things which I found really interesting, and very cool all because I would go off the beaten path.
For me KCD is the best of the games out there, and to let you know. KCD, and MD are two totally different games, and it would be absolutely unfair to compare the two.
What KCD does it does well, and what MD does it does well. They are both great games.
The beauty is the amount of resources availabe like I can drink water while swimming the lakes.
Before you start the game use the customize these can add some very good help for enjoyment.
Everything has been detailed by the devs to make this game your own..
Short answer up to you set your difficulty.
Find and kill bandits then loot themand the camps fight and shoot bears buffalo will head but you lol its just the best game when all is combined. Simple and fun.
Have you watched any vidoes on youtube read the ratings and reviews.
I see you have yes the customizations included unlimited carry weight.
It's first person only. I'm sure there is a mod which could change this.
