let us change game customisation settings after we start
there's no description of what the custom game settings do. i thought npc food/resources multiplier meant in how many items in shops and set them to x2. i was 4 hours in and had 1 villager and had to start over because he was eating over 30 food a day and same with using up resources

you can change settings any time by starting a fresh game. The settings affect all saved games, not just the new one. I'm hoping for that to change in the future, as I like to have different themes going on separate saves. But if you want to change something, just do a fresh one then delete it after.

If you really need to, you can also change the settings of an existing game. But this is a bit technical, so I’m not sure if that is something that you would like to try.

Anyways, for example; saveeditonline.com lets you edit savegames for Unreal Engine games.

In the future, perhaps they will allow it more easily from within the game. Its still early days.

This I did not know. Good tip!

Then its easy from within the game, without editing savegames.

But I understand you dislike this “feature” since you cannot have different settings in different savegames right now then. Ah well, all in good time.

I could not get this to work. I have two old games, started in v0.1.2.4 and v0.2.0.2, that use the default settings. I started a new game with v0.2.0.3 (now in year 7) with unlimited stamina and carrying weight. I loaded saves from the old games and they still had limits on both.

Does this only work if I start a new game in v0.3.0.0 with changed settings, and then load the old saves?

I'm pretty sure that this is wrong.
Changed settings affect only the game you're just about to start.
Previous saved games are not affected and if you start another game you need to change these settings again.

The reason is simple:
Daiska is wrong with that.
Customized settings only affect the actual game.

A developer of this app has indicated that this post answers the original topic.
