About Donkeys.
So I know they hold a little bit more than horses. Besides that is there any reason besides RP I should keep them or should I just make another type of profitable animal shed in its place?

They're great for mining. Way better to control in a narrow cave.

I'm going to suggest that they serve as pack animals led behind a horse.

Yeah, would be nice.
For now, the closest thing you can do is attach them to another shelter.
Gives a bit of immersion. And the shelter is smaller than a resource storage, which might also be beneficial in some cases.

they are useless, by the time you get horses, you should dump these...you will have miners by then doing it for you. Make another stable, and let the horses breed, then sell them when they become adults. you can always build a storage building outside of the mine, transporting your metal back to your village.

Not being a smartass, but you should do some research on donkeys. They're one of the most vicious animals on the planet. They're actually pastured with horses and cows and other animals to protect them from predators. They could easily rip a grown man to shreds if they felt like it.

Yay, donkeys!

Truth. They really are pretty vicious. Mules can be like that, too.

Hi, This is my first play through where I'm using a donkey, me thinks I like it. Not to mention I just now can build a horse stable. Soooo, I'm not going to buy a grown horse .. but 2 babies (fillies) .. and go from there. I'll keep them around for a bit :)) Happy Gaming :))

You should go for a foal and a filly for breeding later, it is very profitable.

That's the way I did it. I now have two stables, and I'm breeding horses. Already got a black colt!

Lucky you. All I could choose from were four Appies (two chestnut, two black). Which annoys me because not only am I NOT an Appie fan, it is an AMERICAN breed that didn't exist back then...

While the name Appaloosa might not have existed. Spotted horses have been around before medevil times.

If it's any consolation; the colour of their offspring will be random, and has nothing to do with the breed of the parents. So you might get that black foal you wanted from them!

That breed has been around longer than Christians. Pretty sure that trumps medieval times.
